No matter how you feel about Ovechkin as a competitor or a winner or whatever. God damn that guy is one of the deadliest weapons I've ever seen in the NHL. One of the greatest goal scorers we will ever see.

The Caps PP is amazing.

Pretty funny collapse by the Flames but it's a shame that they got a point.

The fact that both Alberta teams suffered similar collapses this week.... not so funny.

Alberta teams = League laughingstock.

I dunno, getting blown out by the West's worst team is pretty bad too.

Actually the Flames went into Washington played a superior team and came out with a point.

The Oilers played at home to a (supposedly) inferior team and came away with nothing.

Like them or hate them thats a pretty good outcome for the Flames.

I think this shows that the Flames have a lot of try in their game. They are a gritty team that lacks scoring but are tough to play against. Sort of the opposite of the Oilers during their rebuild. They were quite small and pretty soft but could score some goals...easy to play against though.

The Flames might surprise the teams that take them lightly.

Oiler fans take them lightly but the Oilers had best not do that.

I think it helped a lot that the Capitals laid a collective egg in the first half of the game.

Eh, I'm one of the biggest critics of the Oilers on this board but I can't talk the Flames up after watching that. I didn't see any of this so-called "compete" from the Flames. Holtby's been bad so far and three of the Flames vets stepped up in the 1st and staked them to a 3-0 lead.

The ice tilted spectacularly after that.

Both of the Alberta teams are junk and it bothers the hell out of me. The rivalry hasn't meant much for a long time now but now... it's completely non-existent. Free spaces on the bingo card for other clubs.

I think your misrepresenting this game.

For example...in OT the Flames took it to the Caps.

Yeah the main reason the Flames were even in the game to start was because the Caps weren't. Just terrible play all around and a couple gimme goals.

Just for kicks, the top five teams I despise:

1. Vancouver
2. Calgary
3. Dallas
4. Colorado
5. Toronto

If Calgary was better I'd hate them the most. What are yours?

that part is apparent.

I remember thinking back in 2009/10 when the Oil got Quinn that we would be alright with a 6–2–1 start......
that dude seems to think Calgary is ahead of Edmonton in their rebuild because of a draw in their 1st game?, and then has the audacity to accuse you of "misrepresenting this game"

my apologies, the Oilers started their rebuild the year after....with a 4 - 0 victory over CGY, in their 1st game of the season.
it's not how you start the race....

Barkov looks like he's going to be a player. Horcoff running around with no clue and Barkov just standing in the crease refusing to be moved.

Pominville is getting paid almost as much as Hall?

Didn't you hear? Eberle, RNH and Hall are overpaid. While players like Pominville, Kessel, Perry, Getzlaf, and Kovalchuk aren't

That was a very ineffective 5-on-3 for the Sharks.

Dominating an OT period doesn't make the Flames a good or even average team.

Luongo seems to have regained his form, let's hope he loses it again before Saturday.

Luongo has always been a great goalie. His issue is that if you can get to him mentally, he collapses.
