Is your respect for a person based on which hockey teams they cheer for? Personally, I like both teams, though the Leafs come first of course.

If we must hate, let it be the Rangers.

how can you hate the Rangers ...they try to be the New York Yankees, and instead they end up the flipside of their name and perform like the Texas Rangers and miss the playoffs again ...playoffs > payroll

I'd rather hate Philly myself.

My feelings for the Rangers are deeply personal and are not based on rational thought. For some reason I have always cheered against them. I'm talking about a decades-long tradition here. It has nothing to do with their recent spending, which I am rather more inclined to defend.

Philly was my first favourite team as a kid. Although I don't especially like anyone in Philly right now, I still can't cheer against the uniform.

to be honest I hate the NYR too, but mostly because of Sather and his BS reputation since he did so little to put together the Oilers and took ALL the credit.
...a team with the talent they have and the payroll they have should not draft near the top regardless of how poorly they play. ...they should be competing for the cup, not the draft lottery.

When you don't have the luxury of being a big market team then you have to wait for a sale to come along and you can pick up smurfs 2 -1 if you are a good shopper.

You know the story of the one clawed lobster ...

"well get me the winner I want two claws."

After the Mem Cup, and Sid Back-Side, is Danny Syvret too old to draft? He'll be 20 in a couple weeks, doesn't that make him UFA?

Didn't Hunter leave the Leafs org as coach, with the understanding he'd give them first dibs if he left juniors for a more senior position?

How about Hunter as assistant to Quinn with the understanding the old fart is gone within a seasons?
