Last year on this day the Oakland A's were 31-36 and went on to make the playoffs. The Jays are 32-36

I mean even that puts them on just an 86 win pace, so they're still going to need to stay hot after that.
i would say a 54-48 record would be more than enough to consider them players..bal and tb both had 53-49 records last year

After the rockies we get the O's, Rays and RedSox. Followed up by the Tigers, Twins, Indians and then Baltimore once again leading up to the All Star festivities. Other than maybe the twins, that's a tough stretch. Alot can happen between now and then, but they can't be playing .500 ball by the end of it. Feast or famine.

With the way our pitchings been, I like our chances. Reyes is back soon and Lawrie might be (any updates?). We've been playing great ball. Rasmus is heating up at almost an identical time as last year.

The bad news is Rays called up Myers. Kid could be a star.

Ya I hope for 2. I think we got Johnson, Rogers, and Buehrle pitching. 2 of them have been real hot lately. Find it funny, we trade for Johnson and trade/sign Dickey but Wang, Rogers and Buehrle are our 3 best right now lol

Monday against an NL team, not too surprised. Even though we won 5 straight, it won't be a popular series.

I read somewhere that Wang with the yankees was using his sinker like 70% of the time. Which works at 94 mph. But not anymore. So finally someone suggested him using other pitches this year, and he looks great because of it.

Shi Davidi ‏@ShiDavidi 12m
Jose Reyes and Brandon Morrow playing for Dunedin tonight. Reyes likely 4-5 ings. #BlueJays

Shi Davidi ‏@ShiDavidi 12m
John Gibbons says both Reyes and Morrow expected to move up a level on rehab before returning.

Morrow's pitch count is around 40 for today.

Oh and lineup:

Reyes coming back makes me very, very excited. Morrow I don't trust, I think he'll be hurt again in no time, but Reyes...man, that could change the landscape a little.

Mostly because Izturis has been better against lefties. At least that's my guess.

I will say I have been pretty pleased with Gibbys general lineup mgmt this year. He's got some short comings, like any other manager, but it seems like he knows what buttons to push with who.

Hopefully this is generating some more heated internal competition between Izturis and Boni. We need one of them to play like they are capable of if we want to climb back into this thing.

DeRosa has far exceeded my expectations this year. He'll never be a regular again, but what he's done so far whether it be as a starter, ph, or defensive replacement has been admirable. He's fast approaching those 100 abs we all figured he'd get this year and were not at the allstar break yet

That's because there is a lefty pitching. They don't seem to like using him against lefties and Colby/Lind are hitting too well to sit against lefties.

I guess Gibbons finally learned to pitch to help the team win.
