I couldn't agree more.

I don't think he shined at all even on the bottom 6 for us.

Do not want at all

As BleedRed once said in his avy :

GET OUT, YOU ONE-TRICK PONI!!!

His return had been an absolute flop. I don't think keeping him around would be beneficial.

However, I'd rather see Zubrus or Stalberg on the third line at 2.5-3.5 million then Ponikarovski at 1-1.5 million. With Carter on the 4LW spot, and a pretty damn good one at that, there's just no room for him here when Barch is likely to be the 13th forward.

Hey guys, not sure if this is the right thread, but I'm looking to get some Devils player t shirts. Not jerseys, but something like this: http://www.lids.com/NHL/New-Jersey-Devils/20335174

Where has a good selection? I'm looking for Ryan Carter.

I still have not seen a good concept design for a black jersey.

Captain letter is on the wrong side too. Only Detroit puts the C on the left.

Nope, not this past year at least. Most of his points came with Kovy actually. He had 4 points in his first 7 games back. Then he had 3 points in 23 games after that. I'm pretty sure at the end of the season he was on the 3rd line, and even scratched a couple times. He wasn't producing then either except that afternoon game we played the AHL Panthers in a 6-2 blowout. He had one point that day.

In fact that Panthers game and the 5-2 beating we put on the Flyers in March is when 2 of his only 3 points after February came. Almost every top 9 forward on the team had points in those two games.

No to Poni. Not sure what happened between last year, when he was productive, and this year, perhaps he just got old quick. Perhaps we were misguided to think the he could produce at the same level we saw in the 30+ games he gave us last year. But he stunk in Winnipeg, and he stunk with us.

It's not as though we need warm bodies to fill out the fwd corpse, # of guys is not the issue. what we need are guys who can put the puck in the net.

Signing a guy like Poni, and thus taking a roster spot, just because he's cheap imo is a real bad sign.

I'd much rather just throw Matteau out there.

Once the Finals end, I fully expect signings to come very quickly

I also find it hilarious how the Leafs think they will sign every free agent they want, but never end up getting them

Pretty much every jersey I've seen looks incredibly tacky, even the red or white ones people try to make. I don't think we need any more jerseys nor change anything on the current ones. It's classic and simple, we should keep it that way.

And you mean only Detroit puts the C on the right.

I think he's more of a top 6 player than a bottom 6. His skillset is targeted towards top 6, preferably second line. Chicago's top 2 lines are chock full of talent (Toews, Kane, Hossa, Sharp) and he's forced into a 4th line checking line role which isn't his strength. It's the same predicament with Tedenby. You have players miscast on lines.

Right side, from the view of the player's wearing it.
Left side, from fan's view.

They probably don't make them for Carter.

But try to customize one...

What a lot of people don't take into consideration when making a 3rd jersey is the logo. Most 3rd jersey's use some kind of alternate logo because it's basically creating a new jersey from scratch. Since we don't have an alternate logo, it's going to be difficult to create an alternate jersey.

Carter should be the center with Gionta and Bernier on the wings, but I guess they'd rather lose 60% of their faceoffs with Gionta in the middle.

Remember this is because of Pete's mandatory rule of righties on right, lefties on left. This is why he's too thick to put Carter at center. Gio and Bernier are both right handed, and Carter is left. I'm not sure if Deboer made this concept, or if it's Oates thing. Regardless it really handcuffs the lineup.

The only guy he really makes exceptions for is Zubrus.

Always like the idea of including the shape of the state. Might be more timely in the wake of the storm and the state pride that has arisen from it.

Gionta's got problems other than his face-off prowess. He gets eaten alive in possession.
