letang is worth more than that, plus i don't think pens would trade him, instead sign him to a long term contract

Why would Pitt have to add to that deal? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Who said anything about Pitt adding to the deal?

Edit: Agree with first post, this won't end well.

Sorry, i meant why is Pitt giving up Letang AND a 2nd rounder for him? Letang has more value then Pavelski at this point given his position, age and production.

They aren't; Sharks have Pitt's 2014 2nd rounder.

Really really bad. Not a chance.

Sharks DO NOT need defense. And especially not at the expense of offense. Their issue is scoring and depth and they could use a top 6 winger. They have plenty of defense and would not trade Pavelski OR Hertl let alone both for defensemen (even very good ones) and a throwaway pick.

Why would Pittsburgh trade two defensemen for two centers when center falls at the very very bottom of their needs list?

You never know what could come out of the fifth round, for example Kiprusoff, Miller, Hull and Gilmour were drafted after the 6th round too. Just sayin

Good point.

Zetterberg was a 7th.

So, I am prepared to offer the Penguins 7th in 2013 and, only for you, throw in a 7th in 2014 and 2015 too.

All for the low, low price of ME Vlasic.

We know. Pavelski was drafted in the 7th. But the Sharks need offense NOW. Even more so if they were moving Pavs or Hertl (which isn't happening and especially not for the deal you proposed). Draft picks and especially lower round draft picks take longer to get to the NHL in general even the ones that turn into stars.

That trade does absolutely nothing for the Sharks and they would laugh and hang up.

That deal is absolutely terrible for both sides.

We could use Letang, but they don't want Pavelski. Nieto, Wingels, 2nd would probably be better for both sides.

Boyle, Nieto, Wingels is the best we could do. Maybe throw in a 2nd.

Brandon Sutter is a great 3rd line center, no need for Pavelski. The only pieces we would want from SJS would be Couture, Burns, or Vlasic. Not good trading partners.
