Mildly surprised by the Gazdic signing to a NHL contract. I guess that's even more evidence that Dallas and Texas ownership being closer.

no harm in having two rough and tumble fourth line types under contract. one will win a longer term deal by the end of the year, probably macd.

Glad MacDermid got another shot.
Now sign Nystrom at 2 x 1.8 and I can rest easy.

Already reported he's testing Free Agency. Would be shock if he's back.

Calling it now..Nystrom back to the Flames to help with them getting more gritty. 3-4 years 2.5-3million!

I'm glad MacDermid is getting a shot, he looked promising before his bizarre injury.

Gazdic will stay down in CPC to scare the bejeezus out of anyone wanting to fight.

With Gazdic announcement today, it looks very likely that Beskorowany, Coyle, and Tousignant will not be qualified. #txstars
Makes a good point...not surprised in the least if that turns out to be true. Now if Dallas can just drop King's contract somehow.

Looking at our other RFA's not listed in the above comment, I seem to recall Wandell headed to the KHL, so he's pretty much done.....but what's the latest on Bachman?

I imagine they'll use this couple of day period before FA officially starts to chat to a few UFA goalies before deciding whether to extend a QO to Bachman or not.

Was trying to figure out when QOs end.

Doesn't this mean that Bachman will be a UFA starting Friday then? Or eventually during the Free Agency?

Yep, looks like he'll test the waters.

Maybe Calgary will bite, not sure how many other teams out there are goalie shopping.

Bachman might not find a job.

In the NHL maybe not, but everybody in the AHL knows who he is. He can get a good contract and decent team I think.

Per Cap Geek .... Gazdic signed for $635,000 in the NHL and $85,000 in the AHL.
