I'm glad to see Skrlac got the call up to "set the tone" for the upcoming season!

Nice to see Rupp add another point...it doesn't guarantee him a spot, but hopefully he's cemented a spot in the regular roster.

Is anyone else just shocked with how well Mike Rupp is playing? I would have been happy with a good 4th line center or a decent 3rd line wing, but it seems like he's determined to prove that he can play in this league.

Now, I know it's only preseason, and preseason means jack ****, but it's all we have to go on. I wonder what made him improve his consistancy... do you think that after Game 7 last year he realize 'Hey, I can do this, I can be a top line player in this game, it's just up to me'...?

Count me as shocked. Loving every minute of it though. I think he did some serious soul searching during the entire playoffs imo.

It is only preseason, but I'm really happy about how well that line is gelling right now. Hopefully they can continue that on into the season. If they can, they will give us a legitimate 2nd line which will go a long way to the defense of our championship.

Anybody getting nervous over the continuing lack of Larionov in game situations thus far? These are crucial games to build chemistry and get in regular season form.

I think there was a lot of pressure on Rupp coming into this season, especially after his playoff preformance last year. It seems as though he has responded very well to the expectations that were placed on him by some.

I would be, if not for the chemistry that the Freeze, Rupp, Langs line is showing. And Rasmussen is looking like he'll fit in just fine on this team as well. If we have to start the season with Gomez, Rupp, Madden, and Rasmussen as our starting 4 centers, I'd be fine with that. With Larionov in the fold, we've got some pretty nice depth for Pat to play with right now.

Elias Gomez Marshall
Friesen Rupp Langenbrunner
Pandolfo Madden Gionta
Brylin Rasmussen Berglund

Larionov, Stevenson, Bicek(losing him on waivers this year?)

Not too much pressure on Larionov there... He can help out the pp hopefully. That had to be one of the main reasons that Lou brought him in. I'm starting to get excited... Bring em on!
