Excellent signing. He should be a good 3rd pairing D, even if he just plays at the level he was at last season, and that's a very cheap deal for some nice depth.
Glad to have Victor around for 3 more years. Never hurts to have solid NHL caliber D. I'm a little surprised he didn't want a 1 year deal to see if there was a better opportunity as a UFA next year where he could get more playing time.
I am very curious to see what they do with Blum, and honestly Gill. I thought Bartley would get a 2 way deal, allowing him to go to Milwaukee. The only guys we have that can now are Ellis and Ekholm. Bartley is 1/3 of your bottom pair (I know, I know-but dmen 5-6-7 are your bottom pair) Gill is another part of that. So you have ellis, Blum, ekholm battling for 2 NHL jobs, if you beleive Poile about being set on D.
reminds me a bit of a few years ago when we had so many NHL ready dman and traded one-parent, at the end of camp.
I thought Bartley did pretty good for the Preds. Played better than Ellis and Blum. 7 pts and a +2 in 24 games. Scored well in 10-11 in Sweden (34pts/52gms) and also with the Ads in 11-12 (39pts/76gms). So he does have some scoring potential, if he can convert it to the NHL.
I really liked Bartley last season. He played very well for having so few games under his belt at the NHL level. I love that we signed him and he played well with Klein if we fail in the UFA market. Hopefully he can be placed on our 3rd pairing and grow from there. A+ for the contract as well.
