Excellent signing. He should be a good 3rd pairing D, even if he just plays at the level he was at last season, and that's a very cheap deal for some nice depth.

Glad to have Victor around for 3 more years. Never hurts to have solid NHL caliber D. I'm a little surprised he didn't want a 1 year deal to see if there was a better opportunity as a UFA next year where he could get more playing time.

As others have said, ideally he's a third pairing defenseman that can play up as needed. Solid depth guy that jumped Blum (and temporarily Ellis) this season.

I am very curious to see what they do with Blum, and honestly Gill. I thought Bartley would get a 2 way deal, allowing him to go to Milwaukee. The only guys we have that can now are Ellis and Ekholm. Bartley is 1/3 of your bottom pair (I know, I know-but dmen 5-6-7 are your bottom pair) Gill is another part of that. So you have ellis, Blum, ekholm battling for 2 NHL jobs, if you beleive Poile about being set on D.

reminds me a bit of a few years ago when we had so many NHL ready dman and traded one-parent, at the end of camp.

this is the handwriting on the wall for Jon Blum. Expect a trade soon.

always like it when the undrafted players work their way up and get the nice payday. This is an absolutely bargain basement deal even if he ends up as our permascratch

this should stop all the "hes not in our future plans" talk...

Kid played great and is deserving of this 'show me' contract.

so now we can make a new team of 3rd pairing D
Brennan- Ellis
Blum- Ekholm
Bartley- Laakso

That being said with this price cant go wrong kind of depth fill in where you need guy that helps allot. just surprised its 3 years with the log jam we have

I thought Bartley did pretty good for the Preds. Played better than Ellis and Blum. 7 pts and a +2 in 24 games. Scored well in 10-11 in Sweden (34pts/52gms) and also with the Ads in 11-12 (39pts/76gms). So he does have some scoring potential, if he can convert it to the NHL.

I like the signing.

I really liked Bartley last season. He played very well for having so few games under his belt at the NHL level. I love that we signed him and he played well with Klein if we fail in the UFA market. Hopefully he can be placed on our 3rd pairing and grow from there. A+ for the contract as well.

Bartley deserves this contract for sure. He impressed me. This should be the writing on the wall for Mr Blum.

Agree. He was solid for the most part and impressed me.
I'd venture to guess he stays with Klein as our #4 while DP is off looking for centers/forwards.
