He's essentially untouchable. It would take MASSIVE overpayment.

another point: Doughty has got a massive contract and probably wouldn't like to share a #1 PMD status with him.

The Kings have set their D up by having one SAH and one PMD paired together.

Williams/Doughty
Regehr/Voynov
Greene/Muzzin
Martinez
Ellerby
Forbort (as of today)

While we could move VV and replace him somewhat within our org (with a lesser all around player) I can't see any reason for us to do so.

That said the Kings view VV and a poor mans Doughty and only just so. It would be hard to put a value on him as a result.

He would easily be a top pairing Dman (#2) on most teams around the NHL as he is both excellent defencively nd offencively. He is young (entering his rfa) and getting better all the time.

We would want a young talented first line forward. A Nail Y. kind of player or more.

He won't have to. Doughty is still number one.

He ran to North America in the first place. The guy will definitely not be traded, he gets a lot of ice time and is not replaceable in my opinion. Don't think a team would want to give up their best young proven NHL forward for him either.

He is already great, young and we are in a win now mode so the 11th pick doesn't do as much for us as having Voynov in our line up.

Who says Doughty would be sharing number 1 duties? Doughty is the heart of their defense. But Voynov is really good. He's not going anywhere. I highly doubt he stuck it out for two years in the minors only to bolt for thr KHL when he's on the cusp of a lucrative long term NHL deal.

How many teams can boast having two young defensemen who can play 20+ valuable minutes? The Kings aren't going to break up one of the best 1-2 tandems on defense unless they get a ridiculous offer they cannot refuse. The only other team I could think of that has that kind of depth is St. Louis with Pietrangelo and Shattenkirk.

He commands a lot of value, Kings have done a great job scouting high-end talent late in the draft.

I would give the moon for a young defenseman like Voynov.

Williams and Doughty. That pairing has been great for us.

Didn't know Drew Doughty operated by playground rules.

29 teams would want him, so LA would understandably be looking for something hellaciously monumental to even consider trading him.

Voynov was a 2nd round pick.

You might be mistaking him with Andrei Loktionov who the Kings took in the 5th round if you're thinking of a late round pick from Russia.

Not a Tampa fan, and I will likely receive a lot of heat for this, but how would his value compare to the 3rd overall (Drouin)?

Voynov would look great next to Hedman

He was the Kings top scorer this playoffs....he isn't getting traded unless its a trade you can't turn down

You did not just value those players equally. Yakupov >>>> Saad.

I'd give Eberle and a small +. Heck, if the kings added a bit I'd put the 7th in as well.

I'd rather have Voynov than Eberle. There are more Eberle comparables in this league than there are Voynovs.
