Bern's GM said that Briere won't come because he has already agreed to sign with a team in the east.. Not sure about the reliability of the second info though

That would make the already bad D and lazy, entitled play in Pitt even worse (or, better from a Flyers fan perspective). I'd love for DB to sign with Pitt

Agree. I'd hate to see him score clutch goals on us though.

the Devils do make sense if he wants to stay in the east, No sure if he is a fit for their system tho.

Lol.

That's ok. He will give up far more goals in losing efforts than he will score clutch goals in winning efforts.

I dunno I sort of see Briere having a great year next year. Not saying we shouldn't move him but I think a change of scenery might light a fire under his ass

I don't know if it has been posted but the flyers Facebook page posted a link to a statement saying that he has been informed of the buyout. So it seems official now

I see Briere doing well elsewhere.....it's kind of the norm lately is it not? Why would it be any different with Briere who is still a good player if utilized correctly..

lol

Ya, it's Lavy's fault that Briere was given more ice-time than he deserved last season and couldon't do anything

Yeah he'll score a clutch goal and then be on the ice for 3 GA.

True, if he's used exclusively as a PP specialist, tasked with coughing up the puck on the half-boards, he'll thrive. 6 minutes/game, no backchecking required.

Almost every single comment on the Flyers facebook announcement on the buy out is like "**** HOMER" "THE FLYERS ARE CLASSLESS." "WHAT ARE THEY DOING?"

what are these people thinking?

He didn't have a good year as with most of the team including the GM and Coach. I still think Briere gets a bit too much of a bum rap. He was frustrating this year but he was injured. I gave my jabs saying he was faking his concussion so he wouldn't be traded but I don't think he would stoop so low...he doesn't have much to stoop anyway

They're all idiots who don't understand what a great deal Briere is getting. $3.3m for nothing plus the right to sign with any team he wants.

Everyone seen this coming not a shocker, but i really hope Briere doesn't think he will be signing over 5 million dollar contract with a new team.

I'll miss seeing him in Orange, but he has been pretty painful to watch the past 2 seasons. I'll always remember his clutch playoff appearances though.

How classy is Danny Briere? He just shook hands with reporters and thanked US for all the help over the years. #otherwayaround #classact
Classy to the end. Will miss you Danny.

Wouldn't it be illegal to have discussions with other teams already?

I was never really a big Briere fan, but the guy really stepped-up his game come playoff time. Can't say anything bad about him, but it's just time we moved on all together. I wouldnt even want him back at half the price

goodluck

I hope whoever signs Danny to a price we wouldnt agree with, gets ripped apart like we were with the Streit signing. Relentless bashing for a player who has never played for us, yet
