Are you suggesting the Wild would move a valuable roster player for a UFA?

Miller + ??? for Heatley (cap dump) + Clutterbuck + Konopka.

What would Buffalo need to add?

From NYR: 1 of Christian Thomas/Jesper Fasth/Oscar Lindberg + 3rd Round Pick + Late Round Pick for Zenon Konopka and Cal Clutterbuck.

Would be willing to add Powe, or more back in a deal. Understandably, Minnesota needs younger players who are just about close to being NHL ready and are capable of scoring in secondary roles, which is why I offered that. Rangers desperately, desperately need a true 4th-Line Center and a player who can win more faceoffs.

Rangers proceed to buy-out Richards.

Hagelin-Stepan-Nash
Kreider-Brassard-Callahan
Clowe-Miller-Clutterbuck
Zuccarello-Konopka-Boyle

Asham/Dorsett as extra forwards.

McDonagh-Girardi
Staal-Stralman/Del Zotto
Moore-Del Zotto/Stralman

McIlrath/Eminger as 7/8th D

Lundqvist
Biron

If I was Fletcher i would give Permission for the team to nego a new contract because then it would sweeten the pot into not just trade his rights...

if his rights are traded i could see something like what Streit got as a rights to UFA a spec and 4th or i would trade his rights and 70th or 81st and move up in the draft to 2nd or 1st round

I'd like Clutterbuck on the Hawks... he'd fit in nicely on the 3rd line. I just don't see this happening

While most Wild fans want Clutterbuck back if he brings a much needed upgrade to defense. Again as most trades it will depend on what is given and returned in the trade.

For a cap dump, a good bottom 6er and an OK 4th liner? None.

Buffalo isn't adding to take Heatley's albatros deal.

one year left hardly equals an albatros. oh, the drama! plus in real-world dollars isn't he only getting paid $4m or something?

If Clutterbuck is actually available (I doubt he is). The Oil better move heaven and earth (prospect and 2 tier pick wise) to acquire him. Perfect fit for the 3rd line

Actual Salary is only 5 Million this year, so for a team with the cap room paying 5 Million for Heatley isn't that god awful. Still probably a little more than he is worth. Even as slow as he is he is still a 25 g, 50 point guy give or take.

re: heatley...

He has more value to cap floor teams that a lot of fans will agree upon.

Cap hit of $7.5 due a salary of $5.

Phoenix, Islanders, Carolina, Florida, and to a lesser degree, Nashville are all teams that would actually value his contract for exactly what it is... a one year rental for an average speed sniper due less salary than his cap hit.

To Pens: Clutterbuck (RFA) + Konopka

To Wild: Bortuzzo + Kennedy (RFA) + 3rd (2014)

Cal would be a decent replacement for Dupuis if he wants too much to return. Seems like the type of guy that Sid loves to play with.

Bortuzzo gives the Wild another lanky, less offensive but more physical guy to replace Gilbert if he's moved.

Exactly what I've been thinking. We may not be able to buy him out but I don't think he's untradeable either. Even if we have to hold a couple million in salary back I think I still pull the trigger.

Not reading all the pages since this, this is a good ?; that said, Rangers would be interested in Konopka.
