The title reminds me of when my band played a little casino in Nevada just outside of Vegas about 20 years ago. The casino was owned by two old guys in their 60's or 70's who after a night of very heavy drinking, talked about how they came from back east and had worked for Hoffa but were forced to leave. They had set up business outside of Vegas because they weren't allowed to step foot inside of the city.

I don't know if I believe them or not, but when a big group of Hell's Angels came over from Los Angeles one night to hang out in the bar, these two old guys literally threw a couple of them out on their ***** in the street, and the other bikers didn't have any problem with them doing it.

Thanks for triggering a memory!

In this very rare case he is right (about spoilers on a game not him personally lol). The game would not have the same impact if the player knew the story.

It's funny that when people get worked up about TV spoilers that's just fine, but spoiling a game I've waited almost 2 years to play is no big deal.

For some (me) it's a hobby and we're very passionate about it.

I don't ****ing care. My one thing about video game is spoilers. I hate hate HATE them. I have been anticipating this game for well over a year. I will not be denied because of some people who have no respect for other people who haven't played it yet.

Please, please, please bookmark this post for future reference. If you want to discuss spoilers, simply put ["spoil"]["/spoil"] tags around the text (without the quotation marks).

Spoil:
It will look like this.

Very simple and courteous move that will save you a lot of grief.

I've been the guy at the bottom of the pyramid lately too. Sucks, but what can you do? I hung up a poster in my room that I had printed that says "adversity can **** off". Sometimes you can't win the battle, but if you keep your head up, you'll almost always win the war. Pretty easy to forget that most of the time (I certainly do) but that doesn't make it any less true.

I guess I played different video games then you guys did...I wasn't aware that spoilers were that big of deal tbh, in a video game.

Popular games these days are a lot like interactive movies. I don't want to know what happens at the end of a movie.

I didn't read your post, so it's all good. The Last of Us is a hugely narrative driven game, and I want to experience it for myself. I have stayed off of popular web forums for this reason. I had the large twist in Bioshock Infinite ruined for me, and I won't have this one done the same.

Maybe he saw a spoiler elsewhere and it was a general rant.

Possibly. I had assumed the two were linked, but perhaps not. If not, disregard my previous out rage.

Lots of games today, especially AAA titles tend to be storeyline driven. Amazing set pieces, great voice-acting, hollywood-type scripts. Definitely not like the 80s at all.

Of course, one of the downsides of games that emphasize story is that the gameplay is lost and they tend to be very linear - things can only be done one way. In several games, there is not a lot of replayability so the games are quickly resold after one playthrough.

It's hard to find games big AAA titles that have both excellent gameplay (with high replay value) and an excellent storyline. Grand Theft Auto comes to mind - somewhat silly storylines, but they are actually pretty engaging and there are several ways to go about completing missions. Oh, and of course sandbox play meaning you can pretty much do whatever missions you want or simply go around blowing stuff up.

So Microsoft has done a 180 and have gotten rid of DRM, online check ins and game trading.

They're still hooped, at least short-term. System is $100 more expensive and the PS4 exclusives are looking much better.

I'm really happy to hear that though, goes to show that consumer backlash will make a difference, and we won't be force-fed their inane ideas.

I saw that the message was about TLoU and that he was talking about near end-game stuff. I then opted to nip it in the bud. I also see people throw out spoilers as non-chalantly as breathing. An overreaction? Maybe. It's the price I'd rather pay to not have the game spoiled for me.
