How much fun would it be if Latvia tied this.

The US team will be playing for a bronze medal at the very least. A good showing for team USA so far, and it could be a great showing if they beat Canada in the semis.

I feel that 15 years ago the goalie-pulling time was 2:10; now it feels closer to 1:45. Am I making this up from imagination or have things changed?

Tried to reply to the comment that slash on Doughty was an aweful call....

It was but it was also a make up call for the obvious penalty shot that should have been called a couple mins before.

False.

You must be confusing "The official Loui Eriksson thread" and "The official Loui Eriksson only thread"

The day of it being viewed simply a solid Olympics for the States simply by playing for a bronze are done. Personally I had the Swedes, then Americans as the two biggest threats

Absolutely nothing to be ashamed of if you're Latvia. What an effort. They should go home as heroes.

Sorry Canada had to disappoint you this game.

It was a very exciting game though.

That was a heck of a game. As much as I want to read into it and say "Canada barely hung on to beat Latvia, and hasn't had a dominant win all tournament." I know that it doesn't really matter though...it's a win.

The semis should be wild.
