NJD re-sign Andrei Loktionov (1 year, $725k)

Rich Chere ‏@Ledger_NJDevils 2m
Devils and Andrei Loktionov have agreed on a new contract. Lou Lamoriello: "He's not going to Russia. He's staying in New Jersey."

Presumably a 1 year deal from the reports from 2 days ago

Edit: Not done deal yet

Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said Andrei Loktionov has not re-signed yet, but it's "imminent" that he will and he'll be back in NJ next year.

Happy for the Devils and for Loktionov.

Good young player. Needs to keep developing but can do so in the NHL. Thanks to the Devils for seeing his value and giving him a chance. He was good in L.A. but wasn't going to get anywhere there.

That 5th made it so we could pick up Ellerby who gave us his best (not very good but meh) and kept us in the running for our division. He wasn't great but really helped us allot so Loktionov and the Devils helped us make the playoffs this year while the Devils will have Loktionov help them for the foreseeable future.

Win Win.

All the best to Loktionov!

Look forward to seeing what he can do in our top 9 and potentially along side Kovalchuk.

Watched him a lot and heard the clowns of announcers for the devils talking about him a great deal.. He was brought in to spark Kovy. He will be his line mate(was the master plan for aqcuisition) and they have shown chemistry, but its been on/off. They need one more slick puck distributor on that line.
Lokti is on a short leash though, 1 year. Im a big fan of him work, but I remain skeptical. If Kovy fails-they will send Lokti packing. IMO the devils need more than 1 offensive line, its just too easy for other teams to have to shut down only 1 line. Among other things they need a mega boost in the offense department. Hopefully more moves to come..

Kovalchuk's line and Elias' line creates two tough lines

Chico is fun to try and figure out how much he's been drinking each game. Cangialosi is underrated though. He's stepped into the role after Doc ably. Wasnt going to be easy following him.

And really happy Loktionov is coming back. I'm excited to see him here for a full season and think he can contribute.

I guess he should just retire because you don't miss him

No rumored KHL offer? Guy must not be all that great

Glad to see him re-up with the Devils, he will continue to contribute.

Good deal for both sides.

NJ gets a player who still has a ton of potential to succeed.

Lokti gets another year to prove he belongs and earn himself a real contract.
