Blue and Orange Prospect game 7/11 7pm

The Islanders have announced the date of their annual Blue and Orange game for prospects:

Quote:
The New York Islanders announced today that the team will play their Orange and Blue scrimmage at Nassau Coliseum on Thursday, July 11 at 7 p.m. Fans will have the opportunity to see the organization’s top prospects compete in the game and then take part in a post-game skills competition that will feature a prospect shootout. Tickets to the event will go on sale on Thursday, June 20 at 9:30 a.m. Fans can visit www.newyorkislanders.com to purchase their tickets, which are $10, with all proceeds going towards the Islanders Children’s Foundation.

Season ticket holders will have exclusive VIP access throughout the event. Access includes preferential seating along the glass, meet and greet opportunities and the ability to high five the players as they enter and exit the ice.

This year’s Orange and Blue scrimmage will feature top prospects such as forwards Anders Lee (2009, 152nd overall selection), Brock Nelson (2010, 30th overall selection), Ryan Strome (2011, 5th overall selection) and defensemen Griffin Reinhart (2012, 4th overall selection), Scott Mayfield (2011, 34th overall selection) and Andrey Pedan (2011, 63rd overall selection).
It's usually pretty fun thing to go see the kids play around and usually gets a decent turnout. I will definitely be buying tickets tomorrow morning.

I think I read his injury was a 6 week type of thing, but I can definitely be wrong. I think he should be ready for it.

Gotcha, thanks PW.

I'm really curious to see if his game has taken strides.

Back at the Coliseum? Awesome. I don't have any vacations planned on the 11th so I can finally go to one of these things.

I wish it was on Saturday instead of a Thursday night, no way I can get from work to the Coliseum by 7pm. I really enjoy the rookie scrimmage. I guess something must be going on July 13th at the Coliseum.

That would be my only guess because these things usually draw well and now especially with the playoff bandwagoners it should be good. I remember at the first one they were so unprepared and totally not expecting the crowd that showed up.

Bunk, I was at that one. I still have a video up on YouTube showing Nino's game winning shootout goal in 2010. I was at the one in 2011, and it was double the amount of people than 2010. 2012 was at Iceworks because they were doing renovations at the Coliseum, and I think only 500 season ticket holders were invited (I am not a st holder). Glad they are back at the Coliseum, love watching hockey in July, especially Islander's prospects. Oh well, I guess I'll watch the live stream.

Since the scrimmage is Thursday, the prospects should be rolling to Long Island this weekend.

Will Nino be there? Or is he still holding out?

I thought right away that when he said he was not playing, that was the end for him. I wonder what that statement had to do with him being traded. ???

Does anyone know where you can watch the live stream. The Islanders website maybe?

Hm, I kinda wanna check this out. With pretty much all the good free agents having signed, I think he rest of the offseason league wide will be kinda slow and boring. NHL 13 just isnt cutting it (really do not like that game), and i only play hockey twice a week if I'm lucky. Plus, you can't beat $10

For anyone who's gone to one of these in the past...is there a $10 parking fee too?

Might go this year. Would like to see Strome/Reinhart/Pulock, since I've only seen Strome play in person twice and Reinhart once. Hope Reinhart and Pulock are paired together too!

I'll be going too. Last year's wasn't very fun but the 2011 prospect game was fantastic. Nelson and Lee really stole the show.

Does anyone have a roster?

Every year it's been on IslandersTV so I think it's safe to assume it will be again.

Don't think a full roster has been released yet, but Nelson, Lee, Strome, Reinhart, Pulock, Mayfield, Pedan, McAdam, VCR, Quine, and Burroughs are all scheduled to be there.

I think there is a ticket marked GA1, a front row ticket with some perks for season ticket holders. Your GA2 ticket won't allow you to high five the players as they leave the ice. Sorry, man.

I would think that BST guys for next season would be there too : Reiter, Dalhuisen, Miller, Wetmore, Keenan and Jackson as well.

It's pretty much first come first serve for seats asides from season tickets perks they might only let you sit on one side of the arena depending on how many people show up.
