The last position the Oilers can afford to trade away is centre.

Even if Tampa liked this deal it would make the Oilers a worse team next year which would be unacceptable. The team needs to keep taking steps forward.

This is a bad deal for both teams.

From an Edmonton perspective we're already short on centres as is and you want to trade one? For a pick/prospect??

Many fans are upset by what has occurred, and yet all you can find to write on a trade proposal is laugh at how a Lightning fan was wrong and add insult to injury. Kudos to the both of you for making the world a better place. (Yes, that last line was sarcasm).

would do it in a flash if MacKinnon was there... still might be worth considering for Barkov. Would have to be an elite centre though if Gagner is heading out.

Being an Oiler fan, I could care less what you people in TB are feeling right now.

Good thing you remember what the playoffs look like... Oh wait, sorry man. Realistically I love how complacent some oiler fans have become with not winning and just going with high draft picks. Well done.

I am an Oil fan and I think some of the Oil fans here chirping make me sick. Think back only a couple of years ago when Edmonton couldn't pay anyone enough to get them to come to Edmonton(cough Hossa). You want to laugh at an organization? I hope to hell you laughed at your own Oiler organization VERY recently, hypocrites!

I spend 1/3 of each winter about a 20 minute drive from where TB plays so I follow the TB situation. Most figured the NHL in Tampa would never work. Vinny was a HUGE part of the reason why it did. Of all of the players in any NHL sicty that will get bought out, Vinny's case is the toughest for me to accept. He is Tampa and Tampa is him. I get it. He grew in Tampa along with the organization and nobody should taunt fans for saying/hoping he would never leave.

1/2 hope and 1/2 belief, I doubt Vinny has played his last game in Tampa. Grow up people.

He said something wouldn't happen but did, big deal. I would be here all day if I started bumping up threads where Lightning fans were told a Jeff Vinik couldn't afford to buyout Lecavalier.
