Pens=comedy central. *wipes away a laughter tear*

Yep. If taken on its own, it wouldn't be so bad. But 4 consecutive years of various types and degrees of playoff failure make the decision baffling to me. Basically saying we are happy with the results as owners/management.

"All in" means 3rd round or bust. Finals? naw, let's not get too greedy...

Maybe Shero overreacted to the Philly series from last year. He said he wanted to go more physical, and obviously wanted more veteran leadership because of what happened last season. So we go out and get a LOT SLOWER. All in the name of physicality and leadership.

Maybe he should fire his pro scouts that told him Brendan Morrow could still skate.

It's too bad his pro scouts are failed GM's.

I could have told him that for free.

No doubt.........In fact I remember pre trading deadline someone on the board brought up his name, and Clefty responded with "are you kidding, the guy is done, can't even skate anymore. No, just no".

Yeah, but we rock in the regular season.

EDIT: And Dan Bylsma is 'learning' still, although it seems to be at Letang's pace.

NOTICE: Keep this on topic or I'm locking it.

This is about what's going on around the NHL (Finals, moves by other teams, GM meetings, etc). Fine to make some peripheral Penguin comments if they're directly related to what's going on out there but the Morrow vs. Morrow pissing contest definitely doesn't qualify. (PS - Don Waddell sucks.)

Also: glad Chicago eeked that one out last night. I thought they were hosed when Boston tied it up in the 3rd for the last time. Was waiting for the inevitable Bergeron momentum-hat-trick.

Sorry CV.

Question on topic: Most exciting option . . . watching the B's 'play defense', watching poker before you could see the hold cards, or watching paint dry?

It's all good. **** happens. Just have to keep you yahoos in line once in a while.

The insidious nature of Bylsma's contract extension has poisoned our minds. I fear a backward-looking, angst-ridden summer on account of our playoff debacle and management / ownership reaction. But for now... Enjoy the Cup Finals. Still some good hockey being played. Hope more games are like last night than a typical NJ game.

Anyone else watch the TSN highlights from Game 4?

"Jaromir Jagr, whose favorite hockey player is Jaromir Jagr..."

I laughed pretty hard

I will confess about last night's game that it's a lot easier to go stretch pass a ton when your WORST PMD is Oduya.

P.S.: I think on the Pens he'd be third best compared to the unit that dressed in the Boston series.

I just want to see if the Hawks put a modified glove on Crawford after last night.

Pretty sure there's still a tiny bit of open net, even with that glove.

Flyers buy out Briere. Not unexpected. He's older but I'd take him on the cheap later this summer if available and we know at that point no Return of Iggy.

I would too. Thing is, he wants to be near his kids. That means NJ/NY are closest. Then, I guess it's Pittsburgh or Washington next.

Only concern is where he'd fit in. I'm guessing 2nd PP and Malkin's LW.

NOTE: I was going to add the sarcasm smilie, but is that REALLY sarcastic?

The prospects forum just reminded me of how we easily could have had Crosby, Malkin and Toews on the same team.

We would not have been able to pay all three of them after their rookie contract and Toews would've been traded most likely. Also Toews does not want to be a 3C anymore than Staal did. Less, because he's more skilled than Staal. Toews would've been nice but he would not have lasted here.
