Based on how people were raving about Tim Harrison at development camp it amazes me he is still on the board.

He won't be for long I bet. I can see it being another landslide. Its interesting how some guys are clearly the better prospects in these very late rounds of votes, but its tougher in the mid rounds.

I think Turner Elson is a far better prospect then Harrison.

Can someone explain to me what Harrison has done to be ahead of Deblouw who already has a successful first season in the NCAA.

Because Matt flat out Deblouws!

Sorry, I got motivated by a Begin double entendre made earlier.

Shiny new toy.

I can't figure out how an Billins who was an all-star as an AHL rookie is behind guys like Ferland who couldn't even stick with an ECHL team this year.

Voted Deblouw. No one knows squat about Harrison other than this development camp. Elson is next for me.

Gonna go with Billins, he has an odd chance of being on the Flames for some games this year as a call up.

Michael Ferland chose to return to Junior on his own accord, not because he couldn't hack it in the ECHL.

As far as Billins goes, I don't exactly know a ton about him, but what I do know is that he is an undersized puck moving defender that does not posses a high end offensive skillset. It will be interesting to get a first hand look at him during camp so that we can evaluate where he stands in the organization.

Anyways, I voted for Elson.

Can't believe how underrated DeBlouw is on this board.

DeBlouw and Elson are really underrated.

Harrison is probably my top 5 favorite prospects but he has not proven anything.

I'm not being condescending honestly, but can you tell me why? I and most likely the majorty of people literally know nothing of him. I know he's a big body, that can skate and throw a big hit. I've never seen him in a game so I'm curious as to why?

Well, we have seen him in two games so far (dev. camp), and he was a really effective player in both. He showed a lot of confidence. He seems like a low-ceiling, low-risk guy, to be honest. He won't ever be in a top-6 (most likely), but he probably will play in a bottom-6 and be effective there. And for a 6th rounder, that's not bad at all.

If you don't know a lot about him, how do you know he does not have high end offensive skills? He has been on some pretty impressive streaks both in college hockey and minor pro's.

I would think Billins will be a better prospect than several of the players who have been rated ahead of him in this thread.

Because nothing in his history would suggest to me that he possesses "high end" offensive skills. He has been a good but not great offensive contributor at every level. It is extremely tough for a 5'10" defender to succeed at the NHL level without being above average in one area. I suppose there is always the possibility that he continues to improve, and that is why it will be interesting to see what he can do against NHL players during camp.

Absolutely, but the development camp is just that, while it is a good indicator, it still is not the same as actual game simulation. I was asking him in case he had more info on him outside of what we have seen of him here.

I like all the attributes about him, I just don't think there's really a book on the guy yet.

Harrison is one of my Favorite prospects because of his character and attitude. I have never seen him before. I would have Harrison a lot lower and put Elson, Billins, Byron, Deblouw next then Harrison.
