Scuderi knows what position the Kings are in and that they can only afford so much. It's not like they are holding out on him. I like Scuds a lot but that's the position we are in. We'll see what happens.
If they can't sign him, will DL use that money to sign a Free Agent LW?

I have a feeling we will retain the rest of our RFA's and stand pat and see what develops during the season and take another look at the trade deadline. However, I don't doubt that DL will be working the phones as all these teams try to move contracts and shift around. A lot of good players seem to be up for grabs as teams figure out how to survive under this reduced cap.

True, but that is the exact same thing that happened with the Pens

Quote:
Scuderi, 30, has agreed to a four-year deal worth an average annual salary of $3.4 million, his agent confirmed.
The Penguins are thought to have offered a five year deal at a $2 million annual average salary, though the club would not confirm those details.
"I always had hoped maybe something could be worked out," Scuderi said. "It was strictly a numbers thing, not a lack of need or want on either side.
"Of the offers I was considering, certainly, hockey-wise, (the Kings were) up there based off who they have and the talent they have. They are a team that can turn it around in a hurry."
Penguins general manager Ray Shero has yet to comment, but is expected to later today.
Scuderi informed the Tribune-Review of his decision with a text message at 3:24 p.m.
His agent, Stephen Bartlett, described negotiations with the Penguins as "nothing but mutual respect."
"Communication and intent between ourselves and the Pens was great," he said via email. "In the end both parties understood the situation."
The situation is the Penguins are committed to slightly more than $52 million against the 2009-10 NHL salary cap, which is set at $56.8 million. They have just over $11 million in expiring contracts tied into five players.
However, with plans to extend the contracts of

Makes too much sense. Snow and Wang would never make any move that "makes sense..."

This east coast crap bias is beyond ridiculous.

That conference has two maybe three good teams, that's it. I hope Detroit and Columbus both make the playoffs over there next season.

Buffalo buying out Nathan Gerbe? Could be a good cheap bottom sixer for us. He's small but fast as hell...

Kings have cash but are close in cap, so why not offer 8 year deal to Scuds(15M for first 4,8 for last 4). Scuds gets his big money and Kiings get low cap hit(since he id under 35 he can retire any time whitout penalty for Kings).

Is Kostitsyn going to the KHL? The preds are trying to buy him out, he's a left winger.

. He's had a 50 point season in 2010.

Maybe they can break him in to a good player. But the talent is there and he'd be inexpensive.

It would just be easier not to do deal with him. I don't see why Dean would be interested in him even if he didn't make that awful play.

That's one play. It's like calling Carter a big goon for his head shot as a flyers. I know you aren't a big fan of Russian players.

They should at least look into a bit. We aren't gonna get him most likely anyways.

I think he got a lot of heat for that play and for good reason and I think it will put a lot of stress on his NHL career too.. which I think is a bit unfair. But, it is what it is. I'm sure he will get another shot with someone else, it's just not going to be the Kings, IMO.

Right, it's one play, but it's symbolic of his effort at all times. The guy is a loaf.

I'd love a guy like Prospal on the Kings... but, after realizing he's 38.. yoozza.
