There is zero guarantee that any pick in the darft is going to be a 20 goal scorer in the league much less average over 30 for a career.. Really. Combine the ineffectiveness of the Preds organization to develop forwards. It is mind boggling anyone would not jump all over a trade that included a contract of 5 years for Vanek. ANd while he may not meet the definition of elite short of Peter the Great would be the bext forward to ever put on a Preds sweater. Any team in the league including Buffalo would love to have the guy. He is only being moved due to his not wanting to finish his career while Buffalo re-builds from ground up.
You really did nothing to refute my point that Vanek is a good goal scorer. That's what he is. He hit 40 4 seasons ago. I'd much rather take one of these young players but to each his own. The Preds are not a Thomas Vanek away being a contender. It's time to draft a potential franchise player who will be with us for a long time. I think it's crazy people would give up that chance for Thomas Vanek. But to each his own. Ill pass and unless more is added on to this rumored proposal I'm confident Poile will pass as well.

At USA Hockey press conference, Poile predicts Seth Jones will go in the top 2, I think he then looked at Dale Tallon or in his direction

Boston rumored to be shopping Seguin. Woah.

I wouldn't do it, but Seguin for #4 would be an interesting deal.

Ill take Nash over Vanek every day of the week and twice on Sunday to be honest but I do agree he's overrated. Vanek a first line winger? Absolutely. A franchise player? I'm not buying that for a second. He's not consistent enough. Not a good enough playmaker. Would he instantly be the best forward we have ever had under 32ish? Yes. Would I rather make the pick? yes

That being said if a Vanek+8 deal went down I would be slightly disappointed but I wouldn't be mad as we would be getting a first line winger and a decent prospect at 8. Still hope we make the pick though.

Great how all these guys report this stuff. We have heard here that Mac Drou and Barkov are the top 3 with Jones faling to 4th or possibly lower if you were to pass on him. No one really knows till the names are called.

For a kid that was touted as better than Hall who went one spot ahead of him one has to wonder why he has so quickly fallen out of favor with his club. That to me raises a big red flag.

Apparently it's partially a cap thing as his new deal kicks in next year and partially a "lets see how big of a return we can get" thing.

I don't think we're gonna to want to pay the price. I'd say Josi or the #4.

I don't know that its fallen out of favor but a cap issue.

They really want to re-sign Horton, Ference, and they must re-sign Rask and a back-up and there at 59 mil right now. SO moving him frees up a little over 5 and they will likely have to move another to afford to get done what the GM said they want to do.

Per McKenzie, Horton is moving on and will not re-sign with Boston.

He reported a direct quote from Poile. Poile made a prediction. I'm not sure what the issue is. Neither Cooper nor Poile claimed anything as definite.

I would, too, if he can go back to C, and if Barkov is off the board.

According to Josh DP stated he couldn't see us moving up, and isn't interested in moving down. He also said that DP has not contacted the Colorado. All in his tweets.

I don't know. As of Saturday at 4:23, Droiun is looking a little more like the Preds pick. If, as rumored, Florida really decided on Jones.

And if a third of these rumors are true the HF board structure is going to self incinerate.

I thought I heard that Ference would not be back.

Good. Makes me feel a lot better. If we walk out with him or Drouin I'm happy.

Just dumb speculation on my end, but since Weber is reportedly Nurse's idol, maybe sometime in the future we could tempt Nurse to sign here, giving him a chance to play alongside his idol?

For some reason I feel like we may try on draft day to get a 2nd pick late on the first round. Not sure if the assets are there to make it happen but I could say us taking Drouin, Barkov, or Nich and then trying to get in late 1st round to get another pick since we don't have a 2nd rounder.

We do have 10 picks though

Oh man crazy rumors today. Seguin, skinner, Hedman, Myers, and burmistrov all on the block? Poile better be working those phones.

While I would hate to lose the 4th overall (still think we get Drouin) if we could somehow land one of the above players. Lordy.
