Nashville - Buffalo

Say the draft goes

1. Mack
2. Barkov
3. Jones

Would Nashville trade:

To Buffalo: #4

To Nashville: Grigorenko, Sekera, and 16th overall

Buffalo takes Drouin

Nashville wanted Barkov, they get Grigorenko, a solid top 4 Defense man and still have the 16th pick.

I would be surprised if the Sabres traded Grigorenko one year after drafting him.

And I would throw up in my mouth a little bit if Drouin fell to 4th.

He'd be a great fit in Florida and Tampa.

Nashville would be thrilled to be able to draft Drouin. I only see them trading down if Mack, Barkov, and Drouin are all gone by #4.

That is a hell of an offer though. I highly doubt Buffalo would give up that much.

I'd do that as a Sabres fan, even though it's hard to let grigs go...

Deal.

As would I. But if that scenario plays out, I'd be hard-pressed to be upset about it. Coming away with Drouin & maybe Risto or Darnell Nurse at 8 would be stellar and an absolute Darth Regier type draft.

This is me. Sure, I'd like a top center that everyone reminds me daily is necessary to win the cup. I also see a boatload of teams with that top #1 C who don't have jack to show for it. Therefore, I would be thrilled-- maybe more thrilled-- to watch a dynamic scorer electrify the Bridgestone Arena wearing home colors (as the old Sabres commercial used to say "We will sell you the whole seat but you'll only need the edge of it"). Drouin should fill the bill nicely.

I was talking about the Sabres and particularly Grigorenko.

Given how the Sabres brass have talked about Grigorenko this week, I would be stunned if they moved him right now.

Heh yeah my point exactly, and it was less then a year for less of a player and Forberg was drafted higher haha.

But then Grig and Forsberg together for the future of Nashville is nice.

Interesting offer. I dont see Buffalo giving up Grigs for a winger. I could see giving up Grigs to move up to select Barkov or MacKinnon.

Yeah its definitely a hypothetical situation. The draft would have to work out this way.

Plus if Colorado drafts Mack, Sabres could talk to Colorado for a trade involving Miller and Stastny.
