Yea, aside from being more attractive, she also would actually show personality when talking to/about players. Lucia is like a robot.

Right? This is a pro sports team. Not a freaking news room.

By couple of years do you mean more like 4-5?

I want him to make because, really, how many "Remi"s have there been in NHL history?

There were 2 problems.

The first half of the season he had a really strange illness that basically drained him of his energy.

That finally went away, and then he hurt his knee and was out for another 6 weeks.

Add that with playing at World Juniors AND making a stop in Dallas. He had a lot of stuff going on.

This is farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr from Scott Glennie territory.

How dare you use "wasted" in the same sentence when speaking of the Great Scott Glennie? Blasphemy!

I thought she was saying he had a chance to earn an NHL spot, which is equally as absurd at this point. thumbs down

Ol' Ali also said that development camp is for evaluating players which is totally against what everyone else is saying.

I wouldn't put any stock into what she says.

Everyone says they are not being evaluated, but let's be realistic. Any chance they have to play in front of management they are, in fact, being evaluated. Maybe not a heavy critique, but definitely being evaluated. Every player there should treat it as such too. it is an opportunity.

She also said something about which team Faksa was going to be playing for this season. Unless she meant Green or White, the answer is the Kitchener Rangers.

Some exciting quotes from Valley on the goalies

Biggest news there is that Kiviaho is penciled in as playing for the top league in Finland next year as a 19 year old. Obviously you'd assume as a back up, but I hope he can sneak into 15 to 20 games ... we'll see.

Between Campbell, Kiviaho, and Desrosier, 1-2 of those are going to be a really nice trade chip.

My guess is Lehtonen before any of them.

Disclaimer: Nothing is a given, and goalies always have a bigger bust potential ... so don't jump down my throat folks for simply projecting a best case scenario.

Campbell is in the AHL 2 more years (hopefully one as a full time starter) before replacing Ellis in the NHL. He hopefully lives up to his pedigree and Dallas moves Lehts in the summer of 2017 ... signs a veteran backup to a 2 year contract.

So in 4 years, hopefully Leht's has some playoff success under his belt and you can flip him for a pretty good asset probably.

Best case scenario, Desrosiers plays 2 more years in the Q, and then plays 3 to 4 years in the AHL.

Best case scenario, Kiviaho plays 3 more years in Finland ... hopefully two as a full time starter, and then he plays 3 years in the AHL.

Down the line, you'll likely have Kiviaho and Desrosiers ready at the same time meaning you've got the Mike Smith-Dan Ellis conundrum from several years ago. Ellis eventually walks for nothing before Smith takes the backup job for Turco (ideally Campbell in this situation).

didn't go to the scrimmage today but was there for the practices yesterday. unfortunately, no valeri (foot/skate issue).

my personal observations...

* molin still is my personal favorite, due primarily to his playing style (ribeiro-esque puck possession and patience).

* gemel smith's hands seem to have improved from last year. received passes more crisply and showed good hands around the net.

* stransky was a man amongst boys. he and shore had some nice chemistry on 2-on-1 drills and the like.

* vance is noticeable, largely due to his flowing locks and tall stature. don't see him with much of an nhl future though.

* bystrom's fun to watch skate... after practice, he put in some extra work with some one-footed edge control drills down the length of the ice.

note that this is one fan's observations from one practice at a prospects camp... so take it for whatever that's worth.

some observations from people who went to the scrimmage today would make for some good reading...

I absolutely love Desrosiers confidence, he's already stated twice since getting drafted "I will play in the NHL"

Hopefully he gets an opportunity to play for Team Canada at the WJC's.

Legace looks absolutely brutal in net. Poor positioning, not aggressive and bad body language. Does not bode well for him. Both Kiviaho and Desrosiers, on the other hand, looked solid.
