Rangers Trade:

Marc Staal, D
Brian Boyle, F
2013 3rd round pick

Winnipeg Trades:

Zach Bogosian, D
Alex Burmistrov, F

Rangers have excess on LD. Winnipeg has excess on RD. From what I've been getting out of the WPG camp, Trouba is 100% untouchable. Rangers have no interest in Byfuglien. That leaves Bogo. I think Staal for Bogo is an even swap, with perhaps a slight edge for Staal without injury concerns. With a questionable eye, I think it's even.

That leaves Boyle and a 3rd for Burmistrov. Burmistrov supposedly wants out of Winnipeg. Boyle is a good third line center (or a phenomenal fourth line center) that wins faceoffs, and is a phenomenal PKer and shot blocker. Steps up his game in the POs and scores goals.

Rangers want Burmi to usher out the Tortorella era. We'll downgrade with faceoffs and defense, but the Rangers will hope Burmi breaks out offensively.

Winnipeg and other teams have no interest in Staal given his health and his likeliness to walk to Carolina after 2 years.

Winnipeg has zero interest in trading Bogo, ZERO INTEREST. Nevermind the injury concerns with Staal or the fact he would likely leave in 2 years to play with his brothers. Terrible.

Burmistrov is good defensively

Jets fans have been pretty clear and consistent, and I happen to agree with them, Bogo is not going anywhere.

I think that's certainly debatable.

Not interested at all from a Jets perspective. How come you completely overlook all the Jets fans not wanting to trade Bogosian? If you're not interested in Buff that's fine, but Winnipeg doesn't need to do this deal either.

I don't venture here often, and the only reason I know Trouba is so off limits is because I made a thread asking specifically about Trouba. I didn't know you guys were so adamant about not giving up Bogo.

Feel free to lock the thread.

What kind of deal for Buff and Burmistrov? Though this depends on if we buy Richards out or not

There's already a thread for that on here.

He had his wrist repaired before the lockout. It's something that had plagued him since his junior days. It's not even close to the same risk as an eye injury.

I disagree.

Something that has bothered him since his junior days makes him injury prone. He's more likely to re-injure his wrist.

A puck to the eye is a freak accident. Once he's back (and he will be 100% ready by the start of the season by all accounts) he's back. It's not a lingering injury.

The point is moot since WPG doesn't want to give up Bogo.

Lock the thread.

I'd rather lose Burmi to KHL for nothing (not gonna happen) and keep Bogo than have that package. Nothing against the Rangers players, but Bogo is a non-starter. He's the next captain.

For my money, Bogosian is the Jets best defenseman and is the 2nd most untouchable player on their team behind Kane.

He's going nowhere.

Jets get fleeced.

From strict value

Bogosian >> Staal
Burmistrov >>> Boyle and a 3rd

TBH he's 1st ahead of Kane by a smidge.

Not a bad trade IMO but if Staal gets traded he'll go to Carolina

Really? I honestly think it would be tougher to replace Kane than Bogosian.

He's a very good defenseman, but Kane will be a 40+ goal scorer VERY SOON, possibly as early as next season. There's maybe a handful of those in the NHL and an even lesser amount that are 21-22 years old and under.

The type of injury he had takes a long while to heal, but there is no risk of him having this issue in the future.

Not too interested in staal. Even if he is 100%. Great player, but not willing to pay such a huge price for two years.

I think in that situation, Winnipeg would just stick with their guy. I'd be less concerned about the injuries and more the high probability that he will join his brothers in Carolina. That's my concern and JETS fan want NOTHING to do with Bogosian proposals.
