So in other words the entire lower bowl and most likely the box seats.

They confirmed the box seats are flooded now. So yeah half of the saddledome is flooded now.

The flooding in my neighbourhood hasn't affected any houses yet. But it's almost there. It completely washed out a driving range.

My dad lives in Calgary, he got evacuated, his house is fully submerged.

He was living in High River, now he's located North of Calgary to stay safe.

Stay safe guys!

Have to think the Stampede won't be happening this year.

We have a few weeks. I'm sure the Stampede will be delayed, but it'll happen.

All 13,000 residents of High River are under a mandatory evacuation order. At least hes safe.

Well wishes from NYC. Stay safe everyone.

Where is this coming from just excessive rain or something else?

Massive rainfalls out west, so the Bow and Elbow rivers are both swollen. As well, the ice melting in the mountains always sees the rivers rise this time of year, so it's a bad combination of both.

Honestly people are told to stay away from danger zones yet they still go just to take pictures and all, like honestly...no respect for mother nature.

It's also a low pressure area that's caught up against the mountains and can't go anywhere. The water is all coming back our way. CBC did a great animation of the process on last night's National.

Agreed. When nature gets like this nature wins - it's that simple.

Or actually conclude that "non-essential travel" means everyone except them.

That was the case for most of today but that's now changed. CBC has just announced that the RCMP have recovered of two bodies near High River and are waiting to retrieve a third when conditions allow.

Stay safe guys. Hopefully all you'll have to worry about is a musty, damp stadium for a year.

Stay safe everyone. I'm upset this isn't getting more news in the states/internationally. Glad I follow hundreds of Canadians on twitter to keep up. And as horrific as it is, it's incredible that we're able to use the Saddledome as a "measuring stick" (in an almost literal sense) for the destruction this is causing. But again, stay safe! Thought are with you all.

A lot of people look for their 15 minutes of fame in these types of situations. It's not uncommon.
