Tonight could be one of the biggest nights of the season for the Sabres (42 pts):

NYR (46 pts) @ PHI (39 pts)
TB (37 pts) @ WPG (44 pts)

Not to mention a win from Florida and Carolina wouldn't hurt.

Add MIN @ EDM to your list for draft purposes.

NHL has announced the OTT @ BOS game is being rescheduled for April 28 - 7:00 pm ET. Not a surprise there - couldn't fit it anywhere else as both teams are already playing every other day as it is until the end of the regular season. Would have had to force both teams to play a three games in three days if they wanted the game to be played before April 28. Wonder if the game will be on NBCSN here in the United States and CBC up in Canada? (or at the worst - NHL-Network in the United States and one of the TSNs in Canada)

Ah, good call on MIN @ EDM.

And if the game has no repercussions to the playoff order/draft odds, they should just scrap it.

They won't scrap it - too much money involved from tickets having to be refunded to businesses around the arena losing a games worth of profit etc. If the game doesn't mean anything, you will just see the backup goalies play and some of the main guys take a breather. I was going to say that both teams could bring up players from their AHL teams and have them play but both of their AHL teams - Providence (BOS) and Binghamton (OTT) - have made the AHL playoffs and will be involved in their respective first round series then.

Well not good news for Sabres so far tonight - Islanders up 3-0 on the Panthers - late first period.
Rangers and Flyers just started - game is on NBCSN.

I'm not saying they will scrap it, but for comparison's sake the NBA has scrapped the missed Celtics game (though there's no possible impact on the standings as far as I recall).

That's what I'm trying to get across. Although, the NBA hasn't lost revenue this year unlike the NHL.

In game-related news, PHI is up 2-0 on NYR but TB has fallen behind WPG early on, 1-0.

Florida getting destroyed, per usual.

We were never going to out tank the Panthers, that was NEVER in consideration. Have you seen there team. ^_^

Philly on the other hand is doing quite well late, looks like we may draft before them! Hopefully.

Philly up 3-1 over NYR at the end of the 2nd.

They post 3 goals on King Henrik in 2 periods, but get shutout by King Jhonas.

Ok.

Actually I was posting bad news was because the Islanders were winning hurts our very slim playoff hopes - not because Panthers losing for better draft position - knows we are way ahead of them there.

Islanders on their way to a win - 5-2 over Panthers - 7 mins or so left third period.
Jets have a 2-1 lead over Lightning - 7 mins left second period.

Just came to post this.

Bit of a slap in the face that the Sabres -- they of the top 5 NHL TV market -- can't even get to be a visitor for a game.

That lost to the Jets was pretty much the nail in the coffin, IMO. The Rangers are playing poorly enough that they seem to be catchable in that 8 spot, but the 4 point swing in the standings between us and Winnipeg is extremely significant.

sportsclub has us at 30% making the playoffs even if we win out. Which considering the circumstances around tomorrow's game (and the fact that Boston's just better than us), I find highly unlikely to be possible after tomorrow night.

Backes making fun of Kassian's male-pattern baldness. Classic.

Watching this game, I DEMAND a St. Louis-Vancouver 1st round series.

Yeah 2 Ranger games is horrible.

And why are all these teams getting their second games before anyone else gets a 1st? There are plenty of locations they still haven't used.

Still hard to believe they don't have room for Buffalo at least as a visitor.
