Yeah, he is going to be a great goalie for years to come. Great pick, especially with that cap hit.
Hey remember I'm on the West Coast it's only 10 AM for us

Glad I woke up just in time.

Silfverberg's DEF rating was pretty solid, he's got a crazy low cap hit, and he should be able to make some major strides in production next season. He and Saad are both pretty risky picks, but I think they'll turn out nicely.

Dammit, Hamonic was a great pick. Very, very underrated defender, had him way up high on my list.

Yeah the only reason I didn't pick him was his relatively low d-rating on the sim.

Really liking the fact that I got Hamhuis at this point of the draft. Keith-Hamhuis going to be a solid and difficult pair to get past. Schneider's going to be excited to have them two infront of him.

Yeah Hamhuis, for some reason, is incredibly under rated by everyone except Canucks fans. He also puts up decent offensive numbers. When he got named to the WC team I was hoping he would play well and show everyone who was watching what a good player he is. His amazing saucer to Stamkos for that OT winner was the icing on the cake.

You have a list of ratings or you just sign up on the site? I can't find them.

Was my expected pick too, had to settle with Holtby.

Surprised so many goalies still on the board in the 7th.

Too many Canucks fans in this league, was sure that if I didn't take him now, he'd be taken by someone else! Very reasonable talent for someone his age, talent, and potential.

I hate the ratings on there. How the hell are some of the defenseman rated lower than forwards? I refuse to go by them now. If I fail at building a good team, then I will just blow it all up. Lol.

Yeah, I just realized this year's Selke trophy winner, Jonathan Toews, is rated mid 70s in defense rating.

Crazy.

This. The rating system is too weird... Just going to build a team that I'm going to be happy about.

Yea, I'm trying not to use the DEF rating too much, especially considering it changes year to year, but it has influenced a couple of my decisions.

Same, I figured from the start that the sim may or may not do matchups well. Decided to just go with players I wanted, and we'll go from there if we lose all our games or something lol.

Way to influenced by what team they played on and how the team did.

Hunwick had a 92 DEF in BOS, Wideman had a 95. They've been low 50's since lmao. I wouldn't even say Wideman is that bad, pretty underrated imo.

Plus it swings wildly from year to year. Was puzzled when I saw Beauchemin go so high, I see why now but last year seems like an outlier in the macro sense.

Plus it heavily depends on how good your team is, almost everyone on Boston is a 60+ and almost nobody on Florida/Colorado breaks 40. Must be tied to plus/minus more than anything.

Yeah, and I don 't really know what they use to come up with this defensive rating in the first place.

Do we need 4 right wingers and 4 left wingers on our NHL squad, or is 8 wingers fine?
