This deal will come back to bite the Leafs, I just know it. Those assets could have been used in addition to others to get a top pairing defenceman or a 1st-2nd line center.

No way we keep both,Reimer will be flipped to get a second rounder and a roster player back. Basically Toronto is trading Bernier for Reimer and I love it.

Leafs have enough depth on the wings in the top 9 and their prospect pool that they were able to make this move. Kings get a solid young player who is pretty cheap. Well done by both team!

What's the point of this deal for Toronto? They already have Reimer who has worked his butt off and earned the starting role. With this move they basically suggest they have no faith in him. I feel sorry for the guy.

Solid deal. In a year, Toronto fans will be calling Bernier their new savior, bank on it.

Toronto got the best player in the deal, so they win.

A couple spare parts and a 2nd for a talented starting goalie (he will prove to be that in Toronto).

Toronto's the clear winner.

Not a big fan of Bernier but he's at least better than Scrivens, and younger. I don't like giving up Frattin. He's done nothing but i'm still a fan of his physical play and he's always been a decent scorer. I think he could become a good player but all in all not a horrible trade. Hopefully Bernier can push Reimer who I think can still improve. Or take the starting role.

Given that they were trying to trade for Kiprusoff and Luongo, the Leafs were not convinced. Likely foolishly so.

I'll tell ya what, of any goalie on the trade market, I'll take Reimer with the Flyers.

FWIW, it's a good deal for both teams. Like I said before, I was really hoping for a first, but it is what it is. It's a hockey deal.

Kings get additional depth on wing they need, a back-up goalie, and a pick in the next couple years.

Toronto gets a very good goalie who was stuck behind one of the best in the world, but is very much ready to be a starter.

Pretty much what I expected. Dean has been obsessed with Frattin for a while now.

Some Leaf fans are going to have to eat crow real soon. They just got themselves a legit goalie, they just don't know it yet.

This trade screams HFboards logic to me. Why go with the goaltender who has already posted two seasons of #1 quality goal tending when you can give up assets for a guy who could potentially give you #1 quality goal tending? Potential, man!

Its funny because that return was laughed at by a ton of kings fans. Some had expected ridiculous overpayments for Bernier.

And now all of the T.O fans that didn't want him are going to 180 and say he is the best goalie ever.

Gotta love HF.

What happened to the Kings fans that said they would be be getting a mid first round pick?

Pretty good deal for the Leafs. It scares me as a Sens fan.

This is a good trade fo the Leafs, I am not saying that because I am a Leafs fan.

Frattin is a good player, I wish him well. We have a lot of players in our system that plays like him. D'amigo, Biggs and Ross. He's easily replaceable. I know he had 8 goals early in the year, that's because he was already in game shape and benefactor of playing with Kadri. He'll be a good 3rd liner with 15+ goals per year.

Scrivens. Comes and goes as AHL goalie.

2nd. 2014 / 2015 mid range. I am ok with that.

Reimer has serious issue with consistency, especially the game against Boston where he just couldn't come through with one big save. I think that destroyed any confidence the management had on him. I think Reimer is a good back up.

Going to miss Frattin. I haven't watched Bernier play, how is he with rebounds? That's one of the weaknesses of Reimer that hurts him most of the time.

Great trade by the Leafs.

What happened to not announcing trades during the Stanley cup? I thought there was some unspoken courtesy of announcing deals after the finals? I guess Toronto is too smug.

as a Pens fan, the Flyers haven't gotten a legit goalie, so that works for me.

Such an odd trade. They needed a veteran guy who could take the reigns when Reimer faltered and helped him off ice. Is Bernier that guy? Nope.

Leafs didn't give up their 1st (which was the rumored price) so I think they did well. Bernier and Reimer will duke it out.
