Nyr - cgy

First proposal so bear with me...

To
22nd Overall (STL)
Cammalleri

To
65th Overall (NSH)
75th Overall (CBJ)
+ Prospect? Or is that too much?

I know the Flames are going to trade one of their three first rounders on Sunday. I'm thinking the Rangers because their highest pick is in the third round. They wanna get in the 1st round. Cammalleri is rumored to be shopped around and with the former VAN coach, Vigneault, I'm sure he's familiar with Cammy. The Flames love to be the nice guys and help other teams help even if it means acquiring a bunch of mid to late round picks and zero-talent "prospects". Thoughts?

Rangers add.
Those 2 picks have less value than cgy first.
Dont need to trade cammaleri. Has one year left. Can walk away next year without giving away first rounder and jeopardizing rebuild.

As a Flames fan I wouldn't even do that trade for 28th. Way too far of a drop. Unless the prospect coming back was significant.

Flames don't need to pay to get rid of Cammy, but if you want to, the Rangers will reluctantly agree

So 1st round for 2 prospects maybe?

So Calgary trades a first for 2 thirds and Cammaleri for a prospect (if its not too much)

..... riiiiight

What is the value for the Flames in this? It can't be cap space, since they have tons. Huge drop from 22. I don't get it.

What the balls...

Just keep Cammy. The 22nd has more value than the entire package we are getting back why in the world would we do this...

Honest question, what is the rationale from the flames perspective? Unless the "prospect" was named Kreider, it doesn't make sense.

There is no proper rationale for this. Just a terrible trade proposal all around.

Cammy is awesome, I'm perfectly happy not trading him. He is elite talent when he's on his game, and we need him on our left side with Baertschi.

Let's let him remain a Flame, and sign him to a reduced salary after next year.

The Flames have 3 first rounds. I think they trade one. Honestly, when creating this trade I thought it would be a great deal.... Hey, I'm now qualified to be the next Calgary GM!

How so?

The Flames are giving up a 1st rounder. Why?

Apparently it's a terrible trade

While that may be true, you don't trade a first round pick for the sake of making a trade. Just because a team has a surplus of an asset, doesn't mean they trade it away for cheap. You maximize the return on your assets, that's the whole point of making a trade.

Hey. Lay off this guy. This is a well thought out and beneficial proposal and as a Rangers fan I heartily accept.

How dare you, taking advantage of our injured chickadees like that.

Unless that prospect is named Kreider, this is a no.
