if an early 2nd is the best asset that the Flyers can get for Coburn, they should just keep him and give away Meszaros.

Homer trying to make up for trading every single 2nd round pick he has traded?

Two second rounders can push the team up into another 1st round pick.

I'd think hard about that trade though. I think one could get better but if it was MPS + 2 2nds...

If they trade Coburn they need to get a Defenseman back. Trading Coburn for two #2's makes little sense. Also, trading Coburn for the #7 to get Nurse also is a bad idea, Nurse's reported upside is to be Coburn. Why would the Flyers want that?

if they have a plan in place to replace Coburn not named Meszaros I would consiter dealing Coburn in the right deal. there are some options in FA that could replace Coburn. Ference or Scuderi

Again, I didn't see anyone saying the Flyers could get more than MPS + 7 for Coburn + 11 besides people on here. I heard they were asking more.

That is something that sounds more like what I thought Coburn would return. I wouldn't deal Coburn for two seconds. Two seconds and MPS, however, I would take a good hard look at that.

I would rather give up our 2nd to dump Meszaros than to get only two 2nds for Coburn.

not sure you get a 2nd rounder for Meszaros. if hes healthy? sure, but right now his trade value is much lower then it was when the Flyers acquired him.

Dreger said the team wants a young forward back with picks. Add that into TimmyP spewing his ****, wouldnt be surprised if that was on the table once or might be.

I think one has to think about that one. Three 2nd round picks give you the ability to jump into the 1st round.

Im telling ya (well not you ) I think Homer looks at this draft like the 2003 and see's how they got two great players in Richards and Carter. Probably wants to do that again.

He's saying he'd rather go Mezsaros + 2nd for nothing and keep Coburn than dealing Coburn for two 2nds.

EDIT: (Like Upshall).

Or using those extra second round picks from the Coburn trade to make another trade that allows them to move up in the first round

Someone on the previous page said a tsn video straight up says the Flyers could get more not that they are asking. I didn't see it myself though.

Well if it's two different rumors between TimmyP and TSN, I would go 100% TSN.

Coburn + Read + Cousins + 11

Eberle + MPS + 7 + one of their 2nd

I don't think I'd do this trade but from assets I think it makes the most sense.

Hartnell - Giroux - Eberle
Vora - Schenn - Simmonds
MPS - Coots - Raffl/Mcginn/Akeson
Rinaldo -xxxx/Laughton - Talbot
Rosehill

I am not sure how much weight is given in the names mentioned prior. I know MacT WANTS to make a move and they NEED D. So this makes some sense.

edit: would have to clear more cap space, so a dump of Mez?
So much happening in my brain

I would be fine with MPS + 2 2nd's.

Use those 2nd's to trade back into the 1st.

I am just against trading Coburn + #11 unless we make a jump to #5 or get a good roster player coming back.

Why in God's name would you not do that trade? If EDM did that, they would be getting hosed. Coburn is a good top 4 defender, no doubt. Read is good, but on an expiring deal and looking for a big raise. Cousins is a decent prospect, but I think you are kidding yourself if you think he is going to be more than a third liner. Plus they are moving back in the draft. Plus they are giving up a second rounder. Meanwhile, the Flyers get the best player in the deal, move up in the draft, and get an extra second. Yes the Flyers would need to replace Coburn, but getting all that extra replacing Coburn becomes an after thought. Also, why would you need to dump cap space? By my calculations they would still have close to $7 million in cap space WITH Mez once Pronger is LTIR'd...

because when the people are comparing him to Coburn, they're referring to the Coburn that we see show up every 10 games

also, we aren't getting Eberle from EDM

Eberle will be our highest paid forward next year and he is as soft as tissue paper.

I dont ever see eberle being a top 6 winger on a championship team. He is a regular season stats type of guy.

You know nothing about Eberle then. He's a human highlight reel

His career is built on scoring HUGE goals

too many rumors and threads to keep up with.
I hope come tomorrow night I am excited.

And not denounncing the franchise like I did with the sixers 2 days ago when they traded the only good person on the team.

I would think you could get atleast a mid-first round pick for Coburn.
He is young, a fast skater and was a #8 overall pick.

Two 2nds sounds like a salary dump to me.
Who is Holmer planning on signing with Coburn's money ???
