Idea on the Draft

I was reading an article on the net about a draft solution proposal it was verying interesting. It was in regards to draft the lockout looks to end anyday now many of the players that were drafted in 2003 have yet to sign contracts.. Under the last cba agreement teams had two years to sign the players they drafted so all unsigned draft picks should be considered free agents and what to make of the imcoming draft class with sidney crosby on the horizon should the NHL just classy all of the prospects as free agents.. Look we all know if crosby goes to ATL or Washington it wont make a difference because they are not hockey towns he needs to go to a major market IE NYR we all would like that.. Just our luck that everything will work out and he will be a bust!!!

John Buccigross wrote an article on ESPN, and in it he proposed the idea that there be no 2005 Draft but instead all potential draftees would simply be free agents. His reasoning was that the NHL needs Crosby to resurrect its popularity, and him ending up in a city with money (like NY) would be huge. While it's a nice dream, it'll never happen. The owners would never vote on it.
