All this talk of Vinny being bought out, it's likely next year, not this year, no reason to buy the guy out now, when its cheaper to do it next year. It's not like Tampa is in cap hell, Malone is a guy they buy out this year.

Also if we're trading with the Flames it's for Gleencross not Cammy even if you gotta add a little

I'd take Cammy over Glencross any day of the week. This game is about the playoffs. Cammalleri is a playoff stud. I'd welcome him back with open arms.

Offer Bryan Bickell all of it. He's one player you badly need but won't get.

Stop wasting time with Cammy. You had him, you don't need him. You have plenty of players like him. All he is going to do is take away ice time from players like Gally and Gally

I would throw a second rounder ( if signed ) to Devils for Clarksons rights. Entice him with all you got.

No way, Gleencross is on a better contract, almost 4M cheaper per year I believe, has scored more goals in the past few year, and isn't small. Cammy last few years has become super soft, I think he started getting banged up too much and now avoids contact at all cost.

Screw Cammalleri...he scores a few goals but is negative in +/-. I'd like to try for a big name instead.

I'd welcome pulling out the #13 Cammalleri Habs jersey again , just get that boy into the playoffs.

Halpern should retire and Armstrong should be prepared to seek employment somewhere else.

Bergevin's first priority this summer should be locking up Subban.
I'd stay far away from Bickell.

Why Subban is signed for another year and still would be an RFA after the deal is done for 2 more seasons.....

Wouldn't be surprised if he is re-signed this summer but its hardly a one of the top priorities. Maybe later in the summer when there isn't much work done, ex Pacioretty last summer.

If we don't sign anyone short term to fill in then Kristo will probably be given a chance. There lots of speculation that he is NHL ready.

Not a great open market, so I think it happens via trade

One forward with size, one D. I would look at one of Clarkson/Clowe/Bickell, even though I think they will all be significantly overpaid. Who cares, Habs have the need and can afford to overpay. Then the Scuderi option on D is a good fit for the other $4-5M.

I'm down for the Habs to get Bickell if they don't throw a **** load of money at him. I'd rather not overpay to get him. The priority of the Habs right now should be to re-sign Subban, so they need cap space for that.

Contract is up next year, Subban money will most likely come from Gionta 5M that is coming off the books, who is unlikely to be re-signed and there is also another 5.75M coming off the books from Markov, who if re-signed probably will be for cheaper than 5.75

Anyone giving that to Ryder will be sorrily disappointed by the end of the second year...3 years, 9 million sounds alot better for whichever poor GM is taking a ride on the Rydercoaster...

Somebody's going to overpay Bickell. Too many teams that could use him.

Depending on the going rate for a power forward I can see Montreal just getting out of the way and letting buyers overspend, but I hope the cap going down will reel in prices and allow Bergevin to get in on the action. Really hoping for Bickell at a slightly overspending 3yr x $4mill or something of the like.

Since Bergevin thinks you can never have too many D, I can see him adding a stay at home veteran to cover possible injuries and fill in where needed.

Thoughts anyone?

What $9M???

As of now they have about $59M committed of the $64.3M cap.

They have 2 RFAs, 4 UFAs 10 forwards, 8 D, 2 G signed for 13-14.

Weber Halpren, and White will take up what they have left in cap space. they would need to add 2 forwards and unload 2 Dmen after signing Weber.

they have 1 buyout left to use.

He will likely pursue a contract with one of Boston/Pittsburgh/LA/Chicago and if that fails I think he will look at the next tier of contenders which I think includes the Sharks, Wings, Rangers, Blues and Canucks.

This is based on Kaberle being bought out.
