I'm guessing you are referring to his involvement with, um... cinema, yes?

On the upside... we might just have kind of a Billy Tibbetts Lite (very, very Lite... compared to Tibbetts) on our hands!

I can't even figure out the point of this trade.

My worry is that he's a project-type replacement for Cooke. Another undersized player who can skate and has little respect for anything but himself. Scrabble's not really an agitator, but he's done that job to try to get a roster spot.

If Shero thinks this guy has the brain to be an NHLer, we're in for a lot of boneheaded hockey. Cooke's pretty smart. Scrabble cannot do anything right. Tries to throw a bodycheck...it's illegal. Tries to get the puck down the ice quickly, falls off his stick and he ends up leaving it 30 feet behind him.

The Zenith of his career so far has been his first NHL game

It's been all down hill after this play.

What Billy Tibbetts did isn't even comparable to what Zolnierczyk did, IMO. Zolnierczyk's crime is much worse.

Shero might not even re-sign him, might just be a favour to Anaheim who want to take a look at Grant.

That's an irrational worry. He's a 26 year old career minor leaguer.

I obviously don't know the entire story, then.

Because Tibbetts threw a cheeseburger at Mario. Unforgivable.

Well... there was some other stuff, too...

Career minor leaguers spend a lot of time in the minors. Scrabblename was on the Phantoms for 1.5 seasons (college player).

I have a feeling this is Shero doing Murray a favor. Trade Grant for Z, let Z walk. Penguins get rid of Grant's contract, assuming they were not going to qualify him. Anaheim gets Grant, who maybe they would have targeted had he become a UFA.

He is def a bonehead. A lot of the things that happens to him are laughable. He should be a WBS guy nothing more. I do think he can deliver big hits if he learns the time/place for them.

I'd rather have Hozapfel given a shot over Zolnierczyk.

also the Ducks haven't been able to work out a deal with Lovejoy, so he'll probably head to free-agency. there are Orange County Register articles about this (****ing paywall!). Lovejoy moves on. Vatanen moves up. Grant does what he does on their AHL team.

Yeah they could have, but they also may have had to compete with teams for Grant. Now they don't. Not saying there would be a bidding war, but this ensures that Grant is theirs.

He reminds me of Rinaldo, hes a guy you don't want to play against, always gotta keep your head up when hes on the ice, Vitale and Z on the same line would be fun to watch.

Seriously? Over this trade? It was a trade of a guy that was never going to sniff the NHL with the Pens for a guy who might not sniff the NHL with the Pens, but at least plays a position that the Pens don't have overloaded with high-end prospects. It was a foregone conclusion that Grant was going to go, and anyone who thought the return would be anything more than a bag of pucks was deluding themselves.

I really don't get how Pens fans around here have suddenly turned on Shero. Sure, he went all in this season and it didn't work out. The Pens lost in the Conference Finals. They were one of the last four teams standing. But now he's gathering "disdain" because he didn't make the reactionary move to do what the fans on HFBoards wanted him to do.

Frankly, if it were up to the fans on HFBoards, the Pens never would have won the Cup in 2009, because Gonchar would have been traded, Scuderi would have been bought out, and Armstrong would still be Penguin.

Holzapfel is an RFA, so there's a good chance he'll be re-signed as well. I don't see how this creates an either-or kind of situation at all.

If the Penguins actually sign this ****ing scum I will be so mad. Aside from deserving a horrible fate, he adds nothing to the organization.

I think the guy you quoted was actually lamenting the fact that nobody seemed to be jumping up and down with glee that the team brought this crap-sack in to play in the minors. Though I could be wrong.

EDIT: HA! Nevermind... I'm definitely wrong.
