I thought the common complaint about Bylsma is that he doesn't play younger players with less NHL experience. Vitale is both older and has far more games in the NHL than Zolnierczyk. So you shouldn't need to worry about that, at least.
I'm not particularly pleased since he seems like a total ****** bag, but let's keep in mind that his crime was 6 years ago (from my little google search). Maybe he is a better man off the ice now than he was as a teenager. People do learn from their mistakes. Of course, I don't know the guy so maybe he hasn't changed.
The one thing the Pens don't do is hand non-regular players a regular spot on the roster. Shero amasses so much depth so as to make it almost impossible for these Warren Peters, Bret Sterling, Phillipe Dupuis and Harry Zolnierczyk types to get more than a cup of coffee in the event of significant injuries.
