I thought the common complaint about Bylsma is that he doesn't play younger players with less NHL experience. Vitale is both older and has far more games in the NHL than Zolnierczyk. So you shouldn't need to worry about that, at least.

After looking curiously on Google, now I remember who this guy is.

Why in the hell would we sign this POS???? I remember the thread on him in the prospects subforum IIRC. The guy is a first rate *******.

You mean you think we signed him because of getting outmuscled by Boston or being unable to match their toughness???

I feel like toughness and muscles had nothing to do with why the Pens lost to the Bruins, and if that's what the Pens took from it, I'm going to really hate next season.

Pretty much.

Unless we weren't tough enough to get from on end of the ice to the other or physically strong enough to you know...score. Hey maybe people are right.

Yeah... this is a really big fear of mine, as well.

If anything, the Penguins concentrated far too much on trying to out-Bruin the Bruins.

He doesn't even bring any of that to the table. Unless he made huge, unprecedented strides in Anaheim.

I agree when talking about big bad tough guy muscles. I disagree around the goal creases. Particularly the offensive one.

Just spoke with new Penguins forward Harry Zolnierczyk. He is quite excited about the deal, to say the least.

at least someone is happy

Not an awful trade, Zolnierczyk does have an edge and wouldn't make a bad fourth line call-up. I honestly could see Jeffrey leaving and him possibly getting a depth spot.

You know its a slow day when a Grant for Zolnierczyk trade hits 5 pages within a couple hours

Id be very surprised if Jeffrey was around at the beginning of the season. He is a luxury as a 13th/14th forward and deserves to be playing somewhere.

He will turn into a Letestu type guy that ends up playing pretty decent on a weaker team when given some quality ice time. Just hope we get more than a 4th rounder for him

Sure, but Zolercheck isn't helping that

Good for Alex, he deserves a better chance and he never had a chance in the pens organization.

I'm not particularly pleased since he seems like a total ****** bag, but let's keep in mind that his crime was 6 years ago (from my little google search). Maybe he is a better man off the ice now than he was as a teenager. People do learn from their mistakes. Of course, I don't know the guy so maybe he hasn't changed.

He's hardly forced the Pens hand.

Boychuk and Craig Adams.

Though the latter has done fine, the idea that bubble acquisitions don't get ice time on the Pens is false.

Boychuk only ever got ice time because he was a first round pick.

Other than the part about hating next season, I agree. I just love watching hockey too much.
