Except Gaunce doesn't look like a beaver.

Gaunce doesn't compare very well to Logan Couture at all IMO.

The comps are Ryan O'Reilly and Jordan Staal.

Actually... I just assumed it would be late as the Sharks were dominating the league around the time LC was drafted. Or at least I thought. I guess the Sharks weren't quite at their peak in '07.

They traded up to snag him.

They had the Leafs' (higher) pick from the Toskala trade, then traded up to get Couture.

Those comparisons are good as well I just think Gaunce has potential to have a better scoring touch (like Couture) as opposed to those 2.

I love this stuff! Are you the same poster that said Marchand looked like a troll, and Lucic a Gargole?

#9 New Jersey - Valeri Nichushkin
#10 Dallas - Max Domi
#11 Philadelphia - Nikita Zadorov
#12 Phoenix - Hunter Shinkaruk
#13 Winnipeg – Alexander Wennberg
#14 Columbus – Valentin Zykov
#15 New York Isles – Morgan Klimchuk
#16 Buffalo – Curtis Lazar
#17 Ottawa – Bo Horvat
#18 Detroit – Ryan Pulock
#19 Columbus – Anthony Mantha
#20 San Jose – Ryan Hartman
#21 Toronto – Andre Burakovsky
#22 Calgary – Zachary Fucale
#23 Washington – Kerby Rychel
#24 Vancouver – Joshua Morrissey

"leaning towards Mackinnon" is the direct quote, isn't it?

GM's lie.

I'm calling Sakic's bluff.

Agreed.
I think Sakic is just trying to glean some assets from other teams...
And his team need a D more than a forward.

Still...
Even if he is truthful...
He is still getting a very good prospect...
So he is certainly in a very good position.

I hope we don't pick Joshua Morrissey, I have a bad feeling about him.

To be honest, I'd rather trade down if that's how the draft went.

Does anybody believe Calgary would draft Fucale at 6? It's a +1500 underdog. Could be money to be made here...

(I'm thinking Feaster should get in on this )

I would draft Drouin first overall.

http://thechronicleherald.ca/sports/...-drouin-s-game

I agree with the sentiments here. It is impossible to say who will be the better NHL player, but my money would be on Drouin. I have always said that whoever passes on Drouin is going to regret it and I still believe it.
