Blum had a decent run for about as long as it takes you to drink a cup of coffee. Perhaps a new situation can turn his career around.

Since they gave him a QO, they'll be keeping him if no one claims up.

shows how much we overvalue picks at times doesn't it...
Surprised by Ellerby, Teubert, and Blum. I'd like the Flyers to pick up one of them for the right price.

-Tough day for the Schultz : Jeff gets bought out and Ian isn't qualified

-The Islanders didn't loose much when Gregoire and B.Kessel used that loophole to become UFAs a few years ago.

-All the potential RFAs that were loaned at the AHL clear day roster weren't qualified (Sonne STL, Schneider VAN, Tousignant DAL, Hamill FLA and Nash FLA)

I'm surprised that Nick Leddy has not been qualified. On the non-qualified list, the one that sticks out is Jonathon Blum...has he been that bad in the Predators organization?

Leddy has already signed. And we don't know if he was qualified or not, Chicago still has yet to release a list!!!

Yep. He hasn't bulked up at all (he looks like a twig) and has regressed in about every way imaginable. With Klefa, Musil, Marincin, Davidson, and Gernat all being eligible to play in the AHL next year, we needed to clear some space

That was really the only reason he was a first rounder to begin with - average skills, hockey IQ and skating (probably considered a good skater for his size), but tough SOB with a nasty edge who was going to be a beast once he put on 25 pounds. Due to a metabolic issue that was revealed later the guy just can't put on weight. He was 6'3.5 and 185 before the draft in 08, currently 6'4 195 after 5 years of trying to put on muscle. If he were 220, he'd be in the NHL, but he is not strong enough to play "his" game at the NHL level. There is some debate as to how effective it is at he AHL level.

I just hope Nurse can put on some pounds or we might be looking at a more talented version of Teubert

Poor Mueller. 2 seasons in a row of not being qualified. He's a pretty good player too. I hope he catches on somewhere, I enjoy watching him play.

I also Aaron Palushaj catches on somewhere. Great speed, good hands, good vision. He just needs to get stronger and stop falling down so much. But he certainly plays hard.

Peter Mueller would fit in nicely with the Habs... Since Ryder is going away we might as well try to sign Mueller who is going to have a little less production but will still be paid around 3 mills... great fill in until habs RW prospects(Collberg,Thomas,Arty and BigMac) are ready to step up !!!!

Dont mind that Bergevin just signed Danny ******* Briere !

Beach? I'd question that, but you're not really allowed to question the champs at least for a few months!

BTW, that leaves 22 players with no announcements, yet.

6 already signed in Europe next season, so their importance to roster building is negligible.
-Colby Cohen (BOS)
-Tomas Vincour (COL)
-Luke Walker (COL)
-Juuso Pusstinen (NAS)
-Maxim Goncharov (PHX)
-Jani Lajunen (STL)

Some are fairly easy to guess: Mike Connolly, Brad Malone, T.J. Brennan, Daniel Bang, Joe Colborne all almost certainly were qualified. Chet Pickard, Mark Louis and Brent Raedeke were almost certainly not.

That leaves Joel Chouinard, Geoff Walker, Jack MacLellan, Ben Ryan, Spencer Abbott, LWTyler Brenner Mark Owuya and Kevin Marshall as the real head-scratchers.

Seems like all the Leafs RFA's got qualified minus Tyler Brenner.
