Don't think I forgot about our bet...

I bet it will be a blast for those who go... but I'm going to happily sit this one out, and watch from TV and just let you guys share some pics. When I find out idiots like my sister and groups of 20 and her friends go (and did go to the last one) who probably couldn't tell you which TV had soccer on vs the TV that had hockey on, not sure I want to deal with morons like that.

Instead, I'm going to splurge for opening night tix for the 13-14 season no matter what the cost is. For more memorable and better than the parade, IMO.

I'll be working. No real desire to be mobbed by a bunch of people who don't know who Thibault was.

Helluva team, helluva season. Congrats! Might have been one the more exciting series I've seen.

I 100% understand why you'd say that, but wouldn't you agree that being mobbed by a bunch of people who don't know who Thibault was is better than the days when Thibault was manning the net?

I'm working but probably wouldn't go, anyway. I got my in-person celebrating done Monday night. I'll definitely record/tune in to tv coverage, though.

I went in 2010 and sweated by the stage for 4 hours before they arrived. I swore I'd never go again, but now I'm considering it. If I do go, I'm thinking about trying to follow the buses down the parade route then watch from the very back of Grant park.

Still waiting to see the route. Might just find a spot on the route nearest the office, then watch in a bar over lunch.

argh outside of Chicago I don't think they will be showing the parade on WGN again, like last time. This really sucks! either that or Cox Cable didn't upgrade their programming for WGN.....

They're saying the field only holds 75-100,000. **** that. I'll just hit the parade on Washington, then go watch the rally near the office.

The bandwagoning bothered me last time. Until the puck dropped on the Final, the city's sports culture was outright hostile to hockey in a lot of places.

This year, the whole city has been behind the team from day one.

Going to be so ****ing swamped at work, it's not even funny.

Thankfully, the company set this Friday as a Hawks-oriented casual day, so going to be sporting my Hawks Kaner t-shirt at the very least.

Wife casually suggested the possibility of us flying in to witness the celebration-- and although I know I have a heck of a keeper for having the sort of spouse who would broach the topic unbidden, I still have to conclude that doing so doesn't pass muster on a reasoned cost-benefit analysis.

I'll admire this one from afar... just like 2010----

I'm sure every news outlet's site and CSN's will have it.

I drew up the route. Red dots are the rally entrance points.

My cable went out on Tuesday, ATT can't get there to fix it until Friday night. So lame.

Fellas,

Can someone confirm for me which channels will be televising the full parade and rally? I'm out of the country and want to set my DVR so I can watch it when I get home. I'm disappointed I'm going to miss it but I got to go in 2010 so i guess i can live with it. I literally hopped on a plane 12 hours after we won the Cup and wore my Hawks sweater on the flight and that first night here in Hong Kong. Been trying to record what I can for later viewing so I appreciate the help.

Thanks!

Missed it in 2010...I'm going to the rally this year...going with a couple guys, we're going to try and get a decent spot in Hutchinson Field early. It will probably suck battling the huge crowd of people, but I just have to experience this once in my life. At least it's not supposed to be quite as hot and humid as in 2010.

The $64,000 question is whether Toews will moonwalk tomorrow. If he does, being there will have been worth it, even if you had to fly in from Philly.
