In what way is this relevant to Handzus' playoff run?

He made Bolland a 4C which proved huge for the overall forward depth. He was a huge piece.

Considering the Hawks were short on C depth, he was most definitely a missing piece.

Handzus was great for us. He led a lot of odd-man rushes that turned into goals for the Hawks. We needed his contribution.

I think he was a missing piece personally. That said, I think there were other options other than him that would have resulted in the same outcome.

I lost a huge amount of respect for Handzus after this playoffs, but like they say about the butterfly's wings ... Handzus was a productive player for the Hawks, and without him playing up on the 2nd line that impact 3rd line would probably would not have been as effective.

It's not an exaggeration to say the 3rd line won the Cup for the Hawks both times. Handzus holding it down on the 2nd line contributed to that.

That was the best I've seen Handzus play in a long time. Despite how slow he was he looked like a legit 2C out there. I wonder if he's got anything left in the tank for another season.

So, IMO, no he was not the missing piece. He was a shrewd acquisition, sure, but they are winning the series without him.
So what's Chara then? Punched Crosby in the jaw, targeted Toews' head after Boychuk ran him over. I lost all respect for him as well.

Well, it's hard to say if he's a "missing piece" on a team that largely dominated the regular season, but someone had to step up and take over the 2nd line. He was the guy. Hard to say what would have happened had he not been the guy.

He deserves a lot of credit for playing what was probably above his head at this point. There's no doubt he was brought in to play on the 4th -- 3rd in a pinch -- line and win faceoffs.

He's a good player no doubt but I think Chicago was going to win the Cup regardless of any player they added to their team.

Are we going to act like the Hawks didn't have to overcome a 3-1 series deficit and win it in a Game 7 OT? And Handzus had points in all series comeback wins.

Zeus went through the Dark Ages here in Chicago and scored some clutch goals these playoffs. He deserves that cup as much as anyone else.

Sexiest playoff goal.

Dat hustle. Out-muscling and out-skating Bergeron

Dat ping off the post, best sound in hockey. Right up there with basketball 3-swish.

Make no mistake, that play was 90% Saad. Steal, skating with speed around Chara and an unreal pass.

Pretty much this. Yes, he was a missing piece.
