Grabovski bought out

Sorry for making another "SO AND SO IS BOUGHT OUT" thread, but I know a lot of people around here have been high on Grabbo for a while now. I think DW should consider pulling the trigger if the price is right.

Thoughts?

Makes no sense unless Pavelski is traded and Grabovski signs cheap.

Yeah I'd like to see him sign Grabovski if we can get him for the right price. He's capable of playing RW too and he's really fast too. Only problem is, he was getting paid $5.5 million so I wonder if after a down year for him with only 16 points, we could maybe snag him for around $3.5-4.5 million? I doubt it but who knows?

I don't think Grabo will take a cheap deal but he wouldn't be a bad add in the right situation.

Could Grabo handle 3C role?

Maybe a 3yr deal and then trade Pavs+Demers+goalie prospect for a legit Top 6 winger + pick ?

I love Grabovski, I think it's pathetic how he was handled by Toronto. He's a fantastic, creative two-way player. I'd take him in a heartbeat, even with the log-jam at center we have. He just became easily the best UFA available.

I don't get why he was bought out.

He could handle it easily but I don't think he'd choose to sign into it.

It's Toronto and he had a poor season so they weren't taking the chance, I guess.

They've gotta be making a move for a UFA or re-signing Bozak to a ridiculous deal.

Because you can't not give Tyler Bozak an 8 year deal

also dont know if id trust grabo to handle the defensive load on the third line. offensive upside might make up for it. we would also lose a PKer in pavs, cuz grabo doesnt really pk.

depending on term and potential return of pavs i would do it though.

Because the Toronto front office is comprised of the biggest idiots in the world.

Three scenarios in which the Sharks could sign Grabo:

1. Havlat is LTIR'd until the trade deadline when cap shouldn't be an issue (correct me if I'm wrong). He plays on Couture and Marleau's wing, if he can, or he centers Couture and Marleau. Whichever, he'd be a fantastic liney for them.
2. Grabo is given the #3C spot and Pavelski is traded for a young stud winger.
3. Grabo is given the #3C spot, Pavelski is moved up to Thornton's RW, Burns is moved back to D, and Boyle is traded.

BTN for the past three years.

Dude's a great hockey player. Played beyond stupidly hard minutes this season and still was one of Toronto's better possession players.

first scenario is best case, but i doubt havlat is out that long.

we dont lose much on faceoffs by trading pavs and getting grabo either, and i like him at evens a lot offensively.

hed probably do best on our second line in an offensive playmaking role.

MacArthur would be the better and more realistic option

Couture-Grabovski-Marleau would not be half bad.

I'd want Grabovski to play wing because he isn't too good on faceoffs.

I wouldn't mind Garbo. Hes a good player and plays with the tenacity and edge that the Sharks are looking for.
