no, there's no rumor

but it's been agreed upon by hf'ers.. i'd rather have a locked-up oshie than one year of pavs and then watch him potentially walk.... besides, we're too deep down the middle

I would want more than Oshie for Pavs .. hopefully someone cheaper as well. And I love Oshie .. he is a fast physical winger. Plus he is a local WA kid.

Another problem with that is we will be very close to going over the cap once Havlat comes off LTIR. We need someone cheaper .. like a 2.5M'ish player.

say no to Steve Sullivan. these days, he's only excellent at one thing. gaining the zone on the PP. otherwise he's worthless.

Oshie's not fast, and St. Louis isn't trading him for a pending UFA.

Thoughts from anyone on Mueller or Halischuk not getting QO's? I think Halischuk could be a good signing and a short contract for Mueller could be a decent move. I always forget how young he is.

Why not offer this money to Stalberg. He is younger, faster, and has the same average .5 ppg

Stalberg will get a whole lot more money than Mueller and Halischuk. Not that I want either of them, just saying that I really don't see Stalberg as a realistic option for the Sharks. A guy like MacArthur might be affordable, but other than that I just can't see DW bringing in one of the big free agent forwards. We absolutely need another top-six winger but I'm not sure we'll get one.

Friday will be the usual snoozer for us. Dougie will roll out of bed, hit the tanning bed and the Starbucks, and sign another Handzus 2.0 to a BS deal. Then we'll yell and complain and call it a day. Calling it now.

How do you guys feel about PM Bouchard? Small and injury-riddled, but still a good offensive player. He played 43 out of 48 games last season and managed 20 points, which isn't terrible considering he played mostly bottom-six minutes. He wouldn't be my first choice, but he might be a good budget option if DW decides to go for a top-six winger.

PS: This Ace Hardware pop-up is ****ing killing me.

I guess I am missing something since the sharks only have 2.6M left in cap space and need to sign a forward and a B/U goalie ~600K. They just traded for Kennedy so I would be surprised if he is not the plan for the remaining $2M in cap space. To cover for Havlat I think they will look internally(Hertl, Nieto, etc) and/or maybe resign Gomez but if they throw a bigger contract out they must have it in their minds that Havlat isn't expected back this year.

I am guessing DW told Gomez we want you back but we cant give you more than 700K and gomez said he wants to test the market to see if there is more out there. If no one offers him more then I wouldnt be surprised to see him resign with the sharks since the coaching staff mentioned time and time how he was like an on-ice coach.

He's been durable most of his career including 11 of the last 12 seasons playing at least 85% of his team's games. Get this nonsense out of here.
And CLEARLY you think your a know-it-all.. If you were that frigging smart you would have a job in the NHL as a scouting director or Guru of Personnel..If I didn't know any better, I'd say you and Jux were sibilings..Both of you and your condescending attitiudes on a public forum is mind boggling. Why not just ignore me then like Jux did?? Love the petty attitude on here..
Ya signing Alfie for 2.5mil is completely logical.. And if you have played hockey your whole life, odds are your body is ailing at 40..So because he has been durable most of his career means he is immune to it?? The only nonsense around here is what you are spewing out of your mouth!!!Bring in a 40 yr old..ya that makes sense.. Hell, you wanted Boyle GONE because he is 36!!! Never mind Boyle has been pretty healthy thru-out his career..

Somebody's mad that they got called out on their nonsense. Just because he's old doesn't mean that he'd be in the press box with Havlat with his frequency. I also never made reference to Boyle's age affecting his durability and equating him to what Havlat is at this point. You're the one making that false connection between age and injuries.

And you want to talk about Jux and I in that manner? Talk about hypocritical. You're every bit as condescending, Jack.

The simple reality is that you sign Alfredsson because it would be cheap, short term, and he has something to offer that makes it worth signing him for no assets at all. The difference with Boyle is that he's expensive and he might have the trade value to pull something the Sharks need going forward. But hey, I've not been completely opposed to re-signing Boyle if he wanted to stay for cheap. Don't let that little nugget slip by you on your little tirade.

I am not sure about the bolded. I heard it was 1 year at 4-4.5M. That is not cheap for what he will bring over.

If he came here, it would be cheaper than that only because that's what the Sharks could afford. Of course, he's not going to come here but I don't see a reason to bring him in if he wants to play here.
