All this trade talk and not one headline on TSN.
I wanted to see..." Bruins deal Seguin to Toronto for Kessel" JK

Things will start once the draft gets going. I bet a lot of teams are waiting to see if there guy gets picked and if so they'd be willing to trade down.

And for deals involving roster players they just want to wait and try to get the best deal possible.

Price + Gorges for Schneider + Edler?

Fair? I'd want Bieksa over Edler with some other valuable personally.

Totally wrong. There is no argument for price being the best young goalie . None . Unless you haven't seen Rask , Quick , or Brobovsky ever play.

That trade doesn't happen not for the reasons you cite.

This whole trading Price idea is absolutely ridiculous, especially without an equivalent goaltender coming the other way as the Habs have none in the system. Think, people...

So Rask is a starter for half a season behind the best defensive team in the league arguably and he is much better than Price?

He's another offensive/PP d-man. We need a big shutdown/crease cleaner type. Plus he makes 5 mil per year, would make it impossible to add a big winger in the top 9.

I'm sure there will be some deals, but more likely a lot of buyouts, few teamsd have cap space and many trying to dump players...plus the ones with a lot of space know players will be bought out so they are offering very little(see Luongo).

With Lavoie tweeting that Letang is close to a deal with the Pens, I think it makes Dupuis available unless he signs for a huge discount. I wouldn't mind throwing him an offer. Trade for Clutterbuck. Trade DD & Gionta. Sign Lecavalier.

Pacioretty - Lecavalier - Dupuis
Galchenyuk - Plekanec - Gallagher
Bourque - Eller - Clutterbuck
Moen - White - Prust

edit: done deal. Letang: 8years, 58mil. per RenLavoieRDS.

I'd switch Galchenyuk with Bourque to start the season.

But I do like that group of forwards indeed. Only thing is we can't expect Dupuis to be as productive as he was in Pittsburgh, but he'll bring another dimension to this team for sure.

Imagine we sign Lecavalier and we are able to sign Horton. It would turn us into contenders.

Bickell camp and Hawks have made progress on talks, closer to a deal, but still not done at this point. #Blackhawks

Minny wants too much for Clutterbuck, pass. Why not just go after a similar UFA?

Lecavalier, I wouldn't touch him unless A-he wants to play in Montreal, not taht he would come if the Habs offered him the moon B-the cost and term made sense, no 5-6 year deals at above 4 mil, I don't expect much from him at 36-37-38.

Often the best UFA signings are the players you DON'T get...see Richards.

then in 2 years HF Boards would be calling MB an idiot for having 11-12 min of tied up cap room in those two players.

Pleks-Eller-Galchenyuk should be our top 3 centers, Gally has to be 3rd center this year so he`ll be ready next year to 1st line center. Next year it should be Gally Eller and Pleks as defensive center.

Someone posted on hf that they were looking for a prospect + 2nd. If true, we can easily afford it.

We can afford 3 2nd rounders, doesn't mean it's a smart move. Having a lot of picks doesn't make a dumb trade any smarter.

Does Subban winning the Norris make the Gomez deal a smart one?

Not sure if this is the place to discuss this and it probably already has but I missed it.

Anybody interested in signing HORTON? He's big and talented and wants out of Boston.

Thoughts?

Why would we want Clutterbuck? What does he bring that we need?
