Gill is the perfect #7 D, he can be dressed solely for the PK. If he's free, why not?

Dressing 7 d-men screws up your lines. It's ok for a few games, but not 82.

Well to be fair, he was a pretty good hockey-playing cat.

we have enough #7 D-men to start the season. I don't mind loading up on extra D for the playoffs in case of injury, but Cube and Drew are enough #7s for now.

Peter Mueller wasn't qualified by Florida.

Given his injuries, he did play a good amount if games this past season 43 of 48.

Do you think he would be a good fit with the Habs with a 1yr deal?

Mueller Eller Galchenyuk ???

Think it would be a safe bet for a year. 25yrs old, 6'2 over 200lbs. Got good wheels as well to skate with those other two.

He would be a good gamble. Isn't he a UFA, not a non-tendered RFA?

Skille was non-tendered by Fla, wonder if MB gives him a shot with the Chicago connection? Former #7 overall pick.

I wouldn't mind that Habs getting both Skille and Mueller.

Cheap contracts both who are young still in their careers.

Focus the bigger money on a UFA or two. Like Lecavalier or another big bodied winger or center.

Pacioretty Desharnais Gallagher
Bourque Plekanec Gionta
Mueller Eller Galchenyuk
Moen Prust Skille

I'd be really quite happy with Mueller and/or Skille. Obviously they both have their issues but they may end up being quality players despite the risk.

Theo Peckham just became a UFA.

With him and Lecavalier as UFAs there's, well, let's just say to properly articulate my feelings it would land me in the banned area.

Lecavalier is great and all and Peckham would be alright as a number 7, but how these guys get overrated here is ridiculous.

What about Jeff Schultz? He just got bought out. 6'06 230 pounds... Isn't he good friends with Brandon Prust as well?

Renaud Lavoie ‏@RenLavoieRDS 55s Ian Schultz et Joe Stejskal n'ont pas eu d'offres qualificatives du Canadien. Ils seront aussi joueurs autonomes le 5 juillet. #RDS

They weren't released, just not given their Qualifying Offer.

Drewskie, Boullion and Gill, because you can never pay for too many 7th defencemen!

We need to bump defencemen down our depth chart not up IMHO

Anyone want the Habs to give Komisarek another chance?

I'm all for the Canadians giving Komisarek another shot. He's big, he's physical, might not be a bad mentor either. Guy can clear out the crease better than almost all of our D-men.

He is softer than Desharnais. I wouldn't take Schultz at league minimum.

I can't wait for the annual " We are perfectly happy with the team we have so that's why we didn't do any move".

God i hate this team sometime
