Let's talk defense

Who are the top-5 defensemen for the upcoming season?

3 young Ds that will breakout this season?

3 veteran Ds that will have great seasons?

3 rather unknown defensemen that will emerge?

Your team's top-6 on D for this upcoming season (as it stands)?

Best blueline among the 18 QMJHL teams?

From Halifax, I agree that Weegar will be one of the top D in the league this season. I would say that he even outplayed Abeltshauser in the last half of this season.

There's also Matt Murphy, who is a bit of a wildcard. The potential is there for him to be among the best in the league, he just really seemed to struggle to find an identity this past season. One shift, he looks like a stud, the next he looks completely lost. If he does break out, it might not be until 2014-15.

What about Berubé for the Armada defense?

Sounds like he's fallen off.

Hasn't had a chance to show what he's made of really. Hasn't been getting better since his first call up with the team. He is small and soft and hasn't showed enough offensively yet.

Training camp will be interesting because we have literally a ton of good young defensemen that could steal a spot. Besides Picard, Leduc, Hoyles and maybe Bahl the rest is wide open.

I think Beaudoin will emerge as a top-4 defencemen for the Armada. You are selling him a little short by having him as a no. 6/7 defenceman. Granted he is a year older but he was much better than Sching-Gomez in Midget AAA. In fact, Beaudoin was the second best D in that league behind J. Roy. Bouchard has been praising him since last year's training camp.

In fact, I would not be surprised if he'd be that 17 year old rookie defenceman who ends up drafted at the next NHL draft. I expect him to be drafted in the 3-5 round area. Mark my words!

Who are the top-5 defensemen for the upcoming season? Sidlik, Morin, Weegar, Fournier and Oligny.

3 young Ds that will breakout this season? Alexandre Carrier (he will be a top-10 defenceman in the league by March), Maxime Gravel, Olivier Leblanc

3 veteran Ds that will have great seasons? Guillaume Gelinas, Dominic Poulin, Michaël Beauregard

3 rather unknown defensemen that will emerge? Tristan Pomerleau, Guillaume Beaudoin, Allan Caron

I don't really have a team, I am a fan of the league and its product and have been since I was 6.

Rimouski has best D corps
