Well, he won't be traded, since he has a NTC, which increases the likelihood that he will be bought out. All dependent of course on the health issue and whether he will be eligible to be bought out in the first place.

I do think, in the end, he will be bought out. But maybe I'm just being overly hopeful

The scenario in which Samuelsson is on the opening night roster is real though. And scary

No way I give up what Boston would want for Seguin. He's very fast in a straight line, but shows little agility and limited offensive instincts. He's actually not bad in a checking/energy role and shows decent effort defensively. He doesn't have the skill or ability of Kessel, so I don't anticipate him blossoming into an offensive stud within the next few season.

Kessel is better. But lets be honest Seguin has a 29 goal season and this season even with terrible slump for a while he paced out to 28. So there is a great deal of offensive talent there. He is a pretty good player and should cost a ton if they try to move him. He will score 40 some year in my opinion and some year very soon.

Is murder an option? This is what I mean when I say Ken Holland isn't bold enough sometimes; I'm pretty sure Scotty Bowman would already be out hiring a pro to "take care of this" as we speak.

Yeah. Seriously tho, I do not want that guy on the roster. I don't see eye to eye with the anti-Holland crowd often but jeeze was that a terrible signing. I can't even say in retrospect; we all knew he was going to suck the moment he signed the contract

The worst part is he's clinging like a leech. Why stay somewhere you aren't wanted? Even Holland wants him gone. Talk about zero pride.

The final solution would be waivers with 2.1 million caphit penalty. (If Sammy is not bought out + he is still on the team when season starts + healthy + not needed)

That's the worst thing that could happen.

Sammy is medically cleared by our doctors, it has happened. In order for him to fight this he would have to get an outside doctor to fail him. Now this would be a million dollar win for Sammy, but I am pretty certain he isn't playing this year. He can either be bought out, or win his little fight, basically putting himself on LTIR all year. I don't know if he can get another contract somewhere else and it might not be north of a million, but he doesn't have a lot of options because I don't see fighting a team to prove you're not healthy as a big selling point.

As Henkka points out above, if we don't hit the upper cap numbers, we should just waive him anyway and hold onto the buyouts. Those will be even more valuable next year in my opinion.

How many teams can bite the bullet on big buyouts.

Chicago, Philly, Montreal have used all of their buyouts.

How many will Vancouver have left, New York is down to one. So you see having two and being one of the few rich enough teams to call might have a benefit.

The cap wont drop again next season if anything it will go up slightly

if teams get in under the cap right as it stands after dropping so much they wont have any issues doing so next season

this is the big summer for buyouts(of quality NHL players) after that it may just be the bums teams simply dont want around the locker room anymore

their is no more "wait till next year." Its either now or never, do somethign creative and bold or simply dont bother and stick with the status quo(which isnt a horrible idea)

Let's play a game...

Is this pick legit, or fake? That's a pretty convincing fake if you ask me...

I'm not getting excited until I see a confirmed trade.

As a Wings fan, I don't believe in trades anymore. Even when Bob McKenzie announces it, I rub my eyes and look for logical inconsistencies just in case.

They just did a dress rehearsal and probably made up some fictional trades to rehearse the process and to test the draft board.

I wouldn't read anything into it.

ok, interesting. Must be practice set up for the TV crew or something. It is weird they have all those "random" pick trades on the right side though.

Yeah, it's possible.

Interesting to note that every pick aside from those two is accurate, though.

I highly doubt someone would take the time to Photoshop that image. They're probably just testing the board.

I feel stupid right now... Welp... Guess they were just toying with the board to make sure it worked.
