Sens could contend this year if Melnyk would let Murray spend to the cap.

They already have a signed #1C, #1D, #1G, great coaching staff PLUS Silf, Zib, Conacher & Pageau are all still on cheap ELC's.

Need a RW (Vanek, Horton) & a LW (UFA's like Bickell or cheaper-Macarthur,Raymond or trade for a better one) + a cheapish veteran dman or two (like Ference) & they're a contender.

Sens will win it this season and send Alfie into retirement with a cup ring.

Thats what bugs me the most. Alfie, Spezza & Phillips aren't getting any younger.

What will next years excuse be! Draft day is coming, get rid of some pics for some proven players now!

It's contingent on the Coyotes. If they move, there will be no realignment according to Bettman's presser.

According to this article i found on nhl.com, the realignment would not be effected if the coyotes do in fact move.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=6...d=nhl:topheads

"Should the city council reject the proposal, Commissioner Bettman said there is enough time to relocate the Coyotes for the start of the 2013-14 season. NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly said no matter where the team plays, the NHL's new unbalanced, two-conference, four-division alignment would not change."

I believe you are correct, the TSN article didn't make it very easy to understand.
