So now that Vinny will most likely stay on the wing full-time, it just makes it even clearer what a horrible decision he made hockey-wise. Border-line playoff team and he's no longer a center lol.

A couple observations about the playoff race:

Colorado is making a push. The Blues are not very far ahead of them, and the Avalanche could easily pass Chicago.

If Vancouver and Minnesota can play steadily, the Kings stand a realistic chance of dropping completely out of the playoffs. As it stands, one of those three teams will probably be the odd man out. I expect Minnesota to make it in. I think Vancouver is playing better, but then they'll struggle for a while. But I believe its going to come down to Vancouver vs LAK for the last spot.

I have little confidence in Phoenix clawing back into the mix, but its a possibility.

Does anyone here think Colorado could give Chicago a tough series? I know its a series I'd love to watch. I think Roy will have that team spitting bullets in the playoffs, just doubt they can sustain it for long. I think Colorado would be more dangerous than Minnesota.

Col preference of shadow coverage, and a kind-of erratic offensive structure would give Chicago fits in my opinion — unless Roy chooses to lock them down, Col would likely be content in a track meet (which Chicago is against bigger teams, but not necessarily faster ones).

My money would still be on Chicago, but I think Col would pose a harder series for them than many of the Pacific teams.

I can't believe the points/standings discussion is still leaning the way it does on the main board. And now I'm seeing Rangers fans tell me the Blues trap and are boring. They're freaking 2nd in the league in goals for per game!

I live in Chicago, and I don't think a single Hawks fan I've talked to wants to play Colorado. They feel about the Avalanche now the way we did 2-3 years ago, that no matter how well we play, they are the rock to our scissors.

The @NHLBlackhawks have recorded points in 4 straight games & 10 of their last 11 on the road (4-1-6). Will the success continue in Anaheim?
Anyone else find this hilarious

He's still the same player, he's just in a better position to be more productive. I've watched some of him and he's still fantastic on exiting the zone with the puck and getting time with the top forward lines and PP really helped him put up better numbers.

That's actually 14 points in 11 games. Still, not what I'd consider success, especially for the defending Stanley Cup champs.

Haha, I've had a long day. Either my math sucked or I thought wins get 1 point.

And holy crap how does Chicago have so many fans in Anaheim. It's like 50/50

The last Hawks game I went to a couple of years ago at the Scottrade that's how it was. Of course, St. Louis and Chicago are much closer.

But win the Cup twice in 4 years and everyone hops on.

Hawks now 14-0-6 against the Pacific.

By beating Anaheim, it actually gives the Blues the best record in the regular season once again.

STL .727 vs. PHX .554
CHI .712 vs. COL .688

ANA .720 vs. MIN .578
SJ .672 vs. LA .569

Chasing:
9. DAL .544
10. VAN .543
11. WPG .526
12. NSH .518

That would be a 104 point pace over 82 games while playing all 82 on the road, with only 5-6 regulation losses.

And? 4-7 is not success. Loser points don't change that.
