Or they are handling this better than the Oilers when they tried giving us Brule.

Really hope it's not Clifford that they move. Would much rather see King go.

I still see a lot of room for growth in Clifford's game.

Agreed. I'm pulling this out of my rear, but I think Clifford is asking for a lot of cash, like 3 million plus. It's the only reason I see him not going to arbitration.

It really doesn't make since to bring in carcillo and schultz if that money would have been enough to sign Clifford....

You'd rather keep the one guy whose brain is already scrambled and missed nearly all of our cup run than two guys that were contributors on a championship team? Ok...

Trade Martinez and Fraser for a solid prospect or prospects. If anyones gonna have a bounce back season, methinks its gonna be Clifford. Maybe Nolan too.

That's not even close to true. Many many teams like to have the security of the extra D and hold 8 defensemen on the roster with just 13 forwards.

I just really have to question the sanity of people who want Clifford on the 3rd line, I mean, does anyone remember just how awful he was in the playoffs?

King certainly has his faults, but he is a much much better fit on the 3rd line.

Clifford is a fourth line player. I think the Kings know that, but Kyle and his agent seem to want to be paid for more.

I don't know, I just don't see a fit for Clifford anywhere on this team, especially if he is expecting a big salary. King is a better value and player for the third line and Nolan is a much better value for the fourth line.

Kings went with 13 and 8 at one point last week.

We know we will have more D than forwards...

Clifford is on the cusp. He tied his career numbers in a lockout shortened season. Stay the course man, stay the course!

lol well Herby your not the first and certainly won't be the last to question it but as someone that see the upside in Clifford I will step up and disagree with you. If you want to trade people who were just awful in the playoffs other then quick and richards who didnt have have awful playoffs this year? That alot of people to be tradeing base off one playoff.

I disagree with you thinking king is a better fit I think King is pretty meh 3rd line player. In his carrer of 80 he has 24 points to me thats not enuff for a 3rd line player. He maybe decent defensively ( i dont think he is more then meh ) but we need more offense out of that 3rd line It would take alot of pressure off the top two lines if we can get a few goal out them.

Shortly after the lockout ended Dean said that the lockout would be hardest on player like kyle with his upside potential if he didnt get to play this year. To me this is showing the team sees him as more then a 4th line player. I honestly don't know what you expect out of a player that only playing 10 mins 45 secs one of the least average ice times on the team. If it wasn't for him in the early parts of the year we wouldnt have made the playoffs imo He was the only one scoring.

As far as him wanting to get paid lots who know for sure what he wants till he signs. I certainly can see him rightly wanting the same money as lewis and more then alec and muzzin. Lets not forget his still young and not near his top potential yet.

And you are still posting pictures from 2 seasons ago? King had 1 great series, has been absolute crap since. Can't tell how nolan is doing from the press box either.

Nolan struggled as a player this year but emerged as a solid fighter. King took a step back in every regard. Had to be forced to fight, long stretches without a goal, occasionally using his body.

Either way, both players were a huge part of the Cup run and this was there sophomore season (maybe third for King).

If I am the Kings, I don't give up on King, Clifford or Nolan. Too young and too much upside.

Dump Fraser. He's 28 and barely could stick with the Oilers. He has a bigger contract than any of these guys. He's a punching bag and was invisible this year.

Again, lockout shortened season, no training camp for either of those guys. Not to mention that "only" being important contributors on a cup winning team two seasons ago is still more that Clifford has accomplished in less time with the big club, minus the concussion history. Ideally we keep all three, but getting rid of the two dudes that have actually done something meaningful for the franchise in favor of a guy who hasn't done much and has a history of head injuries would be fool-hearty to say the least.
