More likely JD.

Or JD is talking to Rimer ... which wouldn't be surprising, considering their notable friendship.

I think the best decision is to keep him playing in the KHL for another season or two, then sign a contract with him. He can develop far more on the 3rd and 4th line in KHL than on any line in AHL.

All character picks. Especially the Rychel and Dano. With Dano I'm little bit worried of the words KHL but if the NHL wouldn't be goal for him...I think CBJ would have passed.

Players that are subject to ELC rules (which Dano is, as are all players signing their first NHL contract) MUST have a twoway clause in their contract. No choice due to CBA.

Understandable, but he did fall to 24, so quite a few teams shared the Jackets view of him.

No. He has signed with Frölunda in the Swedish Elite League. Moving up one division.

Interesting note II: The USHL has had three players drafted (admittedyl two are NTDP), but the NCAA has none. The beginning of the end for the NCAA as the preferred U.S.-based path to pro hockey or just a blip on the radar?

I don't buy that crap, but he can develop fine over there and maybe put a little more money in his pocket.

Thanks for bringing that up, I did not know that. Curious to see then what will happen, he is expected to show up for Slovan summer camp too.

He sounds like Leo Komorov but with offensive upside

I believe players are drafted before they go to the NCAA...

I think it is perfectly okay to like or dislike any pick. We all have the type of player we like and have our favorites. I just don't don't think anyone can say a pick is bad the day of the draft.

Thanks for the info! The case I saw with a Euro player signed to a one-way was a post-draft age free agent under the past CBA (Per Ledin/Avs - They basically paid the guy seven figures to play AHL hockey in Cleveland for most of the '08-'09 season).

Thanks! It just seemed like there used to be more guys drafted out of NCAA rather than their U.S. junior club.

Is Dano hitting machine and a pest?

(I think we'll see Leo back in NHL after 2 years...he wanted more ice time in KHL and develop his game.)

It's also that these are lower scoring leagues.

With Wennberg, he had 32 points in 42 games in Allsvenskan, averaging .70 points per game and was 41st in scoring (with fewer games)

The leading scorer in Allsvenskan only had 50 points in 52 games. No one has impressive stats.

In the QMJHL, does it really matter if MacKinnon or Mantha or Erne or Zykov had multiple points destroying weak Q teams 9-1?

Compared to Filip Forsberg last year, Forsberg was limited to 3rd and 4th line minutes, while Wennberg was in a bigger role. But Forsberg's team, Leksand, has a lot of veterans and won promotion, while DIF relied on their youth to win games and are stuck being relegated since in the promotion tournament, youth hasn't been able to win.

And he wanted money and to be more comfortable with more responsibilty. From what i read Dano loves being the gritty type and hitting, dont think he's near the pest Komorov is though. Not many people are
