I like the Pavelski/Perron deal. However, I'd love a Pavs-Tarasenko straight up. Too bad I think we'd have to add to Pavs since he's a pending UFA.

Question for Blues fans: With Backes and Berglund on your team, why are you guys so desperate for another #2 center? It seems you are really willing to give up a top 6 winger for possibly 1 year of Pavelski.

We need an upgrade and Pavelski is a significant upgrade over Berglund, who at times plays like a 3rd liner. There's also talk of moving Backes or Berglund to wing, more so with Berglund.

I could live with Pavs for Tarasenko. Couldn't we sign him to an extension and then trade him? Or does that not work because he still has to finish his current contract?

I think Blues fans aren't too happy with Berglund. He's been very inconsistent. Pavelski/Backes/Berglund would mean great center depth for the Blues.

Why not? You think Tarasenko holds more value than Pavelski?

Tarasenko is the #1 ranked prospect in the world. He's pretty valuable.

So the Flyers will get Halak and a 2nd for Matt Read?

I just wasn't sure if Philly would do Read for Halak straight up. Throw the 2nd wherever you want. If Philly fans are fine with Halak for Read, then we'll take the 2nd, haha.

What about...

To STL: Pavelski (1 year UFA) and pick #58 (SJ, from Pit in Murray deal)

To SJ: Perron/Stewart, Read (1 year UFA)

To Philly: Halak (1 year UFA) and pick #113 (4th rounder STL)

Philly or Sharks fans want to shred this yet?

I like the 3way but the Sharks need more coming back. Or Sharks need to keep the #58.

To Stl-
Pavs, Sharks #58 pick 2013

To Phil- Halak, Demers + 7th (Sharks)

To SJ- Perron,STL#47 2013
Read,Philly #41 pick 2013

Rosterbation is so fun.........

Sharks get Perron,Read + 2-2nd losing Pavs,Demers+ 2nd &7th
Blues get Pavs + 2nd while losing Perron,Halak & 2nd
Phil gets Halak,Demers+ 7th while losing Read + 2nd

Flame away

Do the 2nd's even really matter at that point? 58 vs 47, you know the blues would rather just throw those out. Does Philly have any interest in Demers? Throwing Demers in just seems to complicate it. You know, since my original 3-way was far more realistic...

I really don't hate it. I don't think the picks are super necessary, but I don't hate it even with the picks. Sharks will have plenty of room to re-sign Read. It's structured just the way I'd want a Pavelski deal to go (a lesser top-6 winger, Perron, and another top-9 winger, Read).

Yeah, I was also fine with Perron + 2nd that's been mentioned all over but if I could find a home for Halak, who I think is valued at around a 2nd, then I'd unload his 4.5 mil salary instead of a 2nd rounder. Since SJ has no interested in Halak I thought maybe Philly would be interested in something based around Read, and I knew that SJ was looking to add multiple wingers so it seemed like a fit...

Done. Done. Done. I'd drive Del Zotto to the airport. That deal is also contingent on the Rangers adding an asset or two to Del Zotto. straight up definitely favors SJ, obviously.

If you'd be willing to expand, I know Rangers fans are also interested in Demers too.

Not interested in Del Zotto. I'd much rather go to Toronto and get Gardiner++ for Pavelski. Only players I'm interested in from NYR are Kreider and Hagelin.

Pavelski worth more than Perron. He's a 3-zone player and on the top powerplay and penalty kill lines.

I would definitely do Pavelski for Tarasenko though. I could add to Pavelski if the value is not there.

Blues aren't trading Tarasenko for Pavelski. They have enough other wingers and assets to trade for a decent center before they would entertain the thought of trading an ELC Tarasenko. We know Pavelski has more value than Perron that's why we're looking to add to him. Even trading Perron plus is a decent risk by the blues due to Pavs only having 1 year left.

I offered Kreider or Brassard + as a start and a few SJ fans wanted Del Zotto, so that's why I mentioned him.

Anyway? As it stands, the Sharks have Thornton, Marleau, Couture, Pavelski, Havlat, Burns, Torres, Wingels, Galiardi, and Hertl as top-9 wingers going into next season. That's ten guys. With Havlat out for at least a couple months, Hertl a question mark, and the fact that in an ideal world I'd have one of Wingels or Galiardi on the 4th line (probably Wingels), we need at least one more top-9 guy for that group, ideally a top-6 playmaking winger to play on a shutdown line with Couture and Marleau. Basically, a guy like Havlat, but who can stay healthy. Perron wouldn't be a bad choice, provided Marleau can play on the RW (he's versatile enough). My top choice would be Filppula via UFA, however unlikely.

If we traded Pavs, we'd need two guys there. So depends on the return and on the direction the team wants to go in.
Any interest in Faksa (could form a good combo with Hertl) and this year's 1st (#29)?

Doesn't really help you now is the problem with this proposal.
