I'd rather date Russell Brand than play for the Flyers.

But that's me.

He's obviously going to go over there because he knew philly will sign anyone to an overpriced contract, and if he underperforms (on purpose, obviously), they'll use their second compliance buyout on him, then he can come home for a league minimum contract since he'll be getting absurds amount of money anyway.

Obviously.

GUYS SERIOUSLY, HOW DO YOU NOT SEE THIS?!

You mean third compliance buy-out? Yeah, those don't exist.

Would be pretty awesome if he purposely sucked so bad they had to buy him out and then returned here on the cheap. I see the plan now.

We did not need him and our G.M is obviously retarded. is there a way we can legally prove this to have him impeached?

Have they actually used their 2nd already? If not, things could totally change...

If so... **** it, are buyouts tradeable?

Though I hate the Flyers, I am selfishly pleased that he won't be in our division. Unselfishly, I am pleased that he was wanted and found some long-term security. Good luck, Vinny.

Can't blame Vinny for going to where he would get paid most. Just sucks he's going to go somewhere he's likely to get booed because he's not going to be worth the amount he's getting paid. Guy is really slowing down as a player.

Briere and Bryzgalov.

To your second question, no. IIRC, the CBA does not allow a team to trade compliance buy-outs as it would more or less be teams trading players elsewhere to be bought out, which is circumventing the CBA. This isn't the NBA where mid-level exceptions and such can be traded.

I feel sick.

Of all the teams in the league, he went to the team I hate the most. I guess this shows again this is all just a business. The Flyers were a huge nag last year and even had Vinny fighting their team twice IIRC, I know at least once. Now he's going to a team that played the Bolts so dirty? A shame. A wise group once said, cash rules everything around me.

Well, won't be buying his jersey now.

I hate the team, ever since they playoffs at the Thunderdome, but I hope he does well there.

Thanks for everything Vinny. Hope you make it back here to finish your career.

Just sickening. The absolute last team I'd want to see him play for.

Still, I hope he finds success. If he can stay healthy and be a physical presence like he was last year, Philly will love him.

Philly just loves them some ex-Bolts lately. Would have rather seen him on some Western team. Philly is just gross.

Vinny playing on a Western team would have been ideal. However, he did not want to move out of the Eastern conference region. He also wanted to play in a city with less of a media pressure, which is why Dallas made the most sense. It was close to his previous house, and is not a city with media like Toronto. Oh well, at least he is out of the division - I would rather take him in Philly than in Boston.

If it makes you feel better, here's Russell Brand destroying stupid hosts on MSNBC. Jump to around 4:45 when the fun starts.

I cannot imagine Lecavalier on any other team, let alone the Flyers. It's just wrong.

Yep, that's pretty damned appalling. Seeing Feds in that ass-ugly orange was bad enough. This is too much. Sorry Vinny, our hearts can't go there with ya.

Vinny was doing us a favor. Philly needed to spend that money on D and goaltending, now they can't. Less competition for us.
