This is very close to how I see it as well. Fucale is a big wild card (no fan base seems to want to pick him in the first round) and I think there are a bunch of D-men that could go at the end of the round (Bowey, Santini, etc).
Yeah, I also see Fucale as a joker card as many others too. And I think that it is like that every year when it comes to goalies. If Fucale falls to 22, it would be close for Calgary to pick him, but I'm not sure will they do it if it happens (they have pretty much different goalieprospects already).
And I also believe that this time Edmonton will draft a defenceman with their first pick. Of course there's possibility of trading down and I have to say that Edmonton might do that because I see those defenders like Ristolainen, Pulock, Zadorov etc. drop from top10.
From top 5 I see Florida's and Carolina's picks the most doubtful. Will Florida take Jones or how much do they want a center for Huberdeau (Barkov)? (Of course if MacKinnon is there, they'll surely take him). Carolina can surprise by taking a defender, or they can also grab someone like Monahan instead of Nichuskin if they all were there at the same time.
^Florida's "D" in the system isn't loaded with top end players, so Jones would be the best "need" for them and a great fit, IMO.
i'm starting to like the idea of the Oilers getting the 2nd best d-man in the draft in Darnell Nurse. when this kid is fully developed, he has a chance to be dynamite!
There is absolutely no chance whatsoever that the Sharks will take Fucale. None. Zero. Like Jux said, we ALREADY have a 29-year old Vezina finalist as our goalie. That is also the single most stacked position in our prospect pipeline too, with no less than 3-4 very high quality prospects working their way through the minors, one of which will be our backup this year.
Seriously, like Jux said, you might as well mock the Rangers taking him. It's that silly.
